Where do you find stock for eBay?

Hi all,
I am likely to lose at least part of my job soon so am trying to plan another way to make money, preferably by working from home. I was wondering where people get eBay stock from, in other words are there some wholesalers etc you could recommend please?
Any help or ideas would be hugely appreciated, thank you. :T

I doubt whether anyone will tell you what stockists they use as competition is fierce enough as it is. However if you can easily find a wholesaler online then avoid that wholesaler, as it just means that hundreds of other people got there first, you need to find a stockist or a supplier that no one else has found yet.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It isn't something that anyone will freely give you advice on on an internet forum. The best way to do it is to check out a city local to you that has a wholesale area and look around there.
Knowing what you want to sell is a good start, if you're just after finding a wholesaler, buying from them and reselling on Ebay, then that's a sure way of losing money. You need to know what you want to sell, where to buy it and then be able to sell for a profit, some people take years to get that into a magic formula to earn a living out of..0 -
Also you need to find a supplier that will supply you at the same price or lower than others, I could give you the names of a few of my suppliers that wouldn't supply you and if they did it would be at about 20-30% higher prices than we pay as we have built relationships with them over 20+ years..0

Sorry to hear about your Job.
Unfortunatly No one here will tell you what you should sell and where you can buy it cheaply enough to sell on for a profit.
Whatever you do sell, it needs to be something that you know about.
What interests you? do you have any hobbies, can you sell stuff related to that?
I take it your already familiar with ebay, and not just thinking its an easy way to make money? Ebay is a great way to make money from your unwanted items, but running a business on there is a whole different ball game to selling privately.

don't forget the legalities of registering as a business which you have to do if you buy to sell on0 -
Unlike yourself I assume the OP is a mere mortal and doesn't profess to have encyclopedic knowledge of every subject known to man. Therefore they have decided to use two human concepts. One is common sense, if you don't know something do some research. The other concept that they have used is called asking a question. It is a method of discovering things that you do not know the answer to. We normal people use that concepts in our daily and business lives. People who are willing to use such comcepts are likely to be good sellers as they realise they do not know everything.

I am not sure how from my post you got the fact that he knows everything and is some sort of superhuman encyclopedia. He merely stated that if you have to ask where to get your stock (a relatively simple thing to research) and do not have enough common sense to realise that other suppliers are not going to divulge this info and help a future competitor, then you are unlikely to survive running a business on ebay.
But seeing as you think divulging this info is ok and given that the OP seems to lack common sense which you feel he has an abundance of.....
To the OP- When you find a good, cheap supplier of quality goods that you can sell for a good profit on ebay with next to no grief then could you please PM me full details.0 -
Lighten up people. The OP is in a tough place ATM with the prospect of a drop in income looming and has asked a perfectly innocent question, no doubt about one of many options for making ends meet in the short term. No need to jump down down their thoat.
Budgie - good luck to you, hope you find a solution soon.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250
