Thanks Again Guys.
Been to London a few times in my time, not scared of getting lost though (i.e. I'm not afraid to ask for help!!)
tonys - i'll be planning the route next week but i'll probably do the whole Birmingham toll road (saves a whack of time off my journey).
suffolkb - nice suggestion, i'd need to - maybe consider though.
Thanks again

You can find the cheapest place to park when you get there but move the car onto a nearby meter after 6.30pm on Saturday as in London they are free after 6.30pm and all day Sunday!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

The City of London appears particularly unhelpful in supplying info on
parking within their boundaries. however on this website-
http://www.londoncouncils.gov.uk/doc.asp?doc=14395&cat=2305
they say this-
"Do not assume there is free parking on Bank Holidays, Sundays or in the evenings -in some areas parking restrictions apply at evenings and weekends."
Double yellow, single and double red lines are no-nos at all times. Check
the signs carefully as tickets are £125 and towing is another £65, so it is
important to get it right.0 -
