  • Thank you to all of you who responded. All in all seems like a good network - and I love the lobster 700tv handset!

Read the T&C's carefully if you are considering the Lobster. If you are intending to go PAYG you'll have to pay £5 p/m for the service. If you go on a contract with a minimum spend of £30 p/m - the tv will be free !!

Thanks for this Star! I assume then that as long as I top up a minimum of £5 per month I'll be able to access the TV and DAB radio?

The reason I really got this phone is for my OH who needs to go into hospital for an op soon, and I reckon that a handset that is also a TV and radio will be a real boon in teher!

You'll need to check the virgin website for full details, but I understand the service would be charged at £5 p/m, if you are a PAYG customer - and not just by apply a credit to your account!

Best to call Virgin - Customer services - they are very helpful, and I'm sure will clarify this point.

    Good luck !

I thought you could not use mobiles in hospitals? Doesn't matter that you are not using it for calls, it will be switched on and therefore emitting and receiving signals!

Some mobiles (like mine) have a flight mode setting meaning you can listen to the radio and music without it interfering with the machines, PCs etc. Don't know about the TV bit though.

  • I find that I can't get a signal with my virgin mobile where I live in Wiltshire. I want to change to O2. Does anyone know how to unlock the Lobster 544?
