Sorry if this is in the wrong place but i really need some one to help me, is Trafalgar Internaional Legit??.....
Hi everyone, I really need some help and advise but dont know where to start looking....
Ok so I have been offered a Home based job for Trafalgar International, the role is a a Telemarketer. The main office is based in Brussels and they offer" free consultations to all our clients in order to advise them on all aspects of planning for medium and long term investment, pensions and savings in the most tax efficient and cost effective manner" My role is to call people who are expats who are living in Belgium to try and get a meeting with the consultations booked. They supply the phone numbers and The aim is to book 2 meetings a day. For every meeting that is booked I get 25 euros. Please could some one help to see if this company is legit? Here is the website http://www.trafalgar-international.com/index.html. I had a telphone interview last week and the mans name was Edward McKernan. Any advise is great thanks

Speaking generally foreign companies targeting ex-pats are renowed for selling them products which earn them huge commission, rather than what they actually need. Being outside the UK means they can avoid FSA supervision.
Although they say their main office is in Brussels the web site is registered in Kenya. I can't point to anything that says it is dodgy, but personally if I was an ex-pat I wouldn't get advice off any company I hadn't previously heard of or had recomended to me.0 -

Hi thanks for getting back to me, yes the man I spoke to said the manager had originally started the company in Kenya and then branched out. On the bottom of one of the emails it says "Trafalgar International is part of Trafalgar Group Ltd" Is there a website i can visit to see if its legit, dont want to get involved in a scam ( If it is)0 -
Well according to http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/, Trafalgar Group Limited was registered in the UK in 2008 and its Registered Office is in Newhaven. All filings are up to date.
Of course the same company name could be registered in other countries and be completely unconnected. You need to be sure exactly who you are dealing with before coming to any conclusions. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

If the company doesn't tell you their proper identity on their correspondence (including emails), that tells you a lot about them!!
It all sounds dubious. You might find yourself being asked to lie to potential investors in order to book the appointments.
Would you invest money after a cold call from a Company you had never heard of?
Are you going to be asked to pay for Training, leads, equipment or anything else?
Just be very careful about what information you give and what you agree to.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

I'm not sure that UK company mentioned above is related. They don't seem to be any links from it through to the web site of your company.
I doubt they are scammers. However we have a regular trickle of unhappy expats posting on here complaining about similar companies poor service, sky high charges, or were sold products they hadn't realised they were locked into for many years.
To pick one example:

Regulations overseas can be lax so there is often little protection for expats.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the company nor that that offer investors a poor deal. I can't find any complaints on the internet about them which is a good sign. It's just this sector doesn't have a great reputation.0
