can i get out of my orange contract?

under clause 4.3 terminating your contract because orange has changed its terms. i would post link but cant being a new user

can i get out because of this change??

From 1st April 2011 Orange will be making some changes to the prices they charge for calls to numbers beginning with the prefixes 079379 & 074181. Calls to these numbers are currently rated as mobile to mobile calls however from April 1st these will now be rated as call forwarding numbers and as such will no longer be deducted from a customers tariff minute allowance. From April 1st these calls will now be charged at 17.02p per minute ex VAT.
Please be aware that from 15th April 2011 Orange will also be changing the way in which they rate calls to numbers beginning with the prefix 075208. From this date calls to this prefix will no longer be deducted from a customers inclusive minute allowance and instead will be charged at 17.02p per minute ex VAT.

Too late to start making cancellation claims now, for something that came into effect on 1st of April. You would need to have contacted them long before now.

A change in terms doesn't void your contract anyway. It has to be a significantly detrimental change.

If you were using these numbers I think you have a case for demanding cancellation. However, be prepared for a long battle.

Well, try it - they can only say "No". If they do, get them to show you why not.

Personally, I don't think you stand a chance, but recently I am surprised at the number of people who seem to have got networks to give them what they want when it seemed to go against their own t&c.

Right - to clarify - Your inclusive minutes include calls to standard landlines and mobile numbers beginning 01, 02, 03 and 07.

Call forwarding numbers (calling cards etc) that begin 07 are not classed as "standard" mobile numbers, and in the Pay Monthly terms and conditions (not the network terms and conditions which are different) it clearly states that call forwarding numbers are not part of your inclusive minutes.

All Orange have done is identify the above 07xxx prefixes as call forwarding numbers, and adjust the call charge accordingly.

In light of this, you caannot cancel under section 4.3 as it does not apply.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

There seems to be some flaw in this logic.
Firstly, although they use the term 'forwarding', I don't think they give any definition of this term.
Secondly, can you/Orange prove that all numbers starting with 079379, 074181 and 075208 are used for 'forwarding'?

If not, what stops them declaring all numbers starting from, say, 07811 being 'forwarding' and starting charging for them?

    No flaw.

Call forwarding is a service where you call the 07xxx number. It then allows you to dial a number from within that call to, say the USA or India. That call then comes out of the inclusive minutes, thereby bypassing dialling direct and starving the operator of revenue. This is the only reason they would take such action.

The companies involved generally buy blocks of 100,000 numbers, hence 07418 1xxxxx, so anyone calling 07418 2xxxxx for example are treated as a normal mobile number.

All mobile operators have a similar charging model. And you cannot cancel due to this.
