Komplett have some Motherboard, CPU, Ram bundles here

those are the AMD ones, they also do Intel ones. The only point to consider is what graphics card do you have, is it AGP or PCI-E as most modern boards only support PCI-E. If you need to replace the Graphics card as well it may even be worth looking at a new machine.

  • The fan is still working it has now been cleaned out but the CPU gets extremely hot very quickly.
    The graphics card is a 64mg GeForce 4MX 440 I don't know if this is AGP or PCI-E ???
    Thanks for your help.

It'll be AGP, socket a motherboards were pretty much discontinued before PCI express came out. Also you wouldn't find a geforce 4 with a PCI-E slot. I think earliest nvidia generation to be pci-e is geforce 6.

Googling for your motherboard it looks like it has an AGP Graphics slot so if you replace the motherboard and CPU you'll probably need a new Graphics card as well PCI-E is now the standard for Graphics Card slots. You can get motherboards that support AGP and PCI-e so if you got one of those you can del;ay upgrading the graphics card.

you just need to renew the thermal paste between cpu and heatsink.
If you try this be careful not to damage mb.
  • if you are going to buy a new computer I would check out the labs tests at https://www.computershopper.co.uk

they get companies to build pcs to a certain price level then give you a good idea of which ones are best value etc...

Will more than likley get more for your money than buying from currys
