Zoverstocks small vent!

I'd seen posts on here from angry sellers about their pricing before but didn't realise they were cancelling orders if they got too low. They still have a high rating although maybe if they've cancelled the order people can't leave feedback?
They are often cheaper than Amazon even when you have to pay for P&P so had used them before in the past but it's put me off using them as they don't seem that concerned about good customer service like some of the 'smaller' sellers. Will just pay the few pence extra next time I think.0 -

Zoverstocks "Used Very Good" description is somewhat different to customers expectations. I have had a couple that matched "used very good" but that's about it. Most were acceptable or good by my expectations.
I've not had any problems before when I've bought from Zoverstocks really, although it's usually dvds that I buy which seemed fine, whereas if it was books you can see the condition a lot more clearly! Did you complain about the condition?Bingo_Bill wrote: »I have bought from them in the past and had the same excuse for refunding. You were lucky you got a repy as I never did. I wouldn't touch them with a barge poll. I have read on forums, possibly here that they buy their own items when they are a penny in order to leave good feedback. That's how they keep their feedback at a steady 97%
I was quite surprised I got a reply! It did seem like an automated one, so they must be cancelling a lot of orders. It put me off them as I'd rather know that when I was ordering something that I was going to get it! I just paid a bit extra by buying the replacement from Amazon afterwards so should be ok now hopefully.
I haven't heard that before, but I knew they weren't very popular with some people, had assumed it was mainly sellers. You'd think Amazon would notice the money was going into the same account if that was the case?0 -
I smell a rat!:cool:0

I've generally had good experiences with them although I am aware of their "tactics" reported on here. I recently bought a disney dvd off them and although it had the hologram on it and was clearly genuine it wasnt in a purple box - wasnt sure whether to raise this with them as it stands out from my other disney ones0

I persisted dropping the price and buying there's so they reported me to amazon and play and my account's got shut I contacted both parties and amazon straight away opened my account back up but play it took a while longer but when they did open it back up all of the zoverstocks purchases had gone.Since then james then contacts me every week threatering me and my family on there email addresses aswell. Then i started getting junk mail through the door and spam in my email address I have also had crank pizza deliveries.I got the police involed and my case is ongoing with them and trading standards. i'm not the only one with this problem james has done this to other people. hope this helps laura0

I have shopped with Zoverstocks many many times without any problems.
No complaints at all.The loopy one has gone :j0 -
Just did some Googling on Zoverstocks, quite surprised they don't have a website considering how 'big' they are with 1,174,163 feedback on Amazon :shocked:9_volt_battery wrote: »The money doesn't go into the same account. They get their staff to set up individual accounts. Have a look at thr names on their feedback comments. Mr P, Mr R, Mr T, the list goes on.
I just had a look at their feedback, I see what you mean with a lot of people just using the first letter of their surname, seems a bit strange! Although with so many items listed and feedback they must have a lot of genuine sales too?canadas_flag wrote: »i have had ongoing problems with zoverstocks for 3 year it first started when they started to trade on amazon market place.A lot of people who sell on amazon and play now can't sell because of zoverstocks automated pricing software.Which automaticly knocks there price down to a 1p below yours.I then started to lower mine to a price then buy there's after about 4 weeks I then got an email saying i was price manipulating and that they were seeking legal advice. Were you not losing money by buying their items? Or did you make it back by selling yours and theirs? It must be annoying for sellers when they do that as they're always at the top of the sellers whenever I look at anything on Amazon. Aren't they price manipulating too with their software? They sound a bit dodgy...!
This James sounds like a nasty piece of work! He mustn't want any competition at all! Hope everything works out with the police and trading standards0 -
Looks like a bit of sockpuppet action here, yet it was all going so well...don't blow it, this thread was about to stick around!0

Well, obviously "Canada's Flag' is the person who was creating new threads every day.
But I can't see why he shouldn't be allowed to vent his problem (unless he has history going further back of which I'm unaware).
The problem with most of his many threads was that he didn't actually say anything. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Because he has been banned multiple times for abuse. And I mean serious abuse of a Board Guide.0
