    hiya
i got this bread maker last year form aldi and its more than paid for itself tho loaves are a bit on the small side my lot go thro 2 loaves a day as well as that i make my own pizza base and let the kids make their own pizza and it does jam an rolls an cake etc would recommend that way you know that no additive/preservative going into your bread and the smell is to die for
easy to use and quick to clean
hope this helps and now off to make a fudge cake hmmmmmmmmm
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

Don't know about the breadmaker but bough a delta sewing machine a few months ago from aldi. a bit clunky but more than adequate - would have paid double the price for a similar quality machine at argos. also there is a three year guarantee on the sewing machine so presumably the breadmaker would also have some sort of guarantee :)

  • I'd say try it. For that money it wont be a terrible waste if you end up not liking it. And even if you dont like the bread it can still be used to make dough.

I thought the ingredients cost more than buying a loaf though which defeats the point?

Where did you hear that. Making your own bread is hands down cheaper than most other made bought breads.

Theres also the quality argument. I cant remember where I heard it or read it, but someone said that making your own bread gives you something close to an artisan loaf instead of some mass produced shadow of what bread really is.

    Hi dawn2dusk,

This recent thread might help: Energy Cost of a bread machine

I would highly recommend a breadmaker. I got one early last month, with the intention of using it now and again. I never dreamed it would replace all shop bought bread.....but it has. One day last week I forgot to put the breadmaker on and had to run out to buy some bread for the packed lunches. I couldn't believe how much my children complained when they got home from school. They far prefer the homemade bread now.

    Hi dawn2dusk,

This is the breadmaker I bought and it's fabulous: morphy richards fastbake

If you look on this thread on the Discount codes and vouchers board there are codes which will give you discount so the breadmaker only costs £19.50.....although you do need be a new customer and use a visa card for the codes to work.
