i got this bread maker last year form aldi and its more than paid for itself tho loaves are a bit on the small side

Is it definitely the same one?...on the specs it states that it can do a 1350g (2.97 lb) loaf! also noticed it has 2 dough hooks. http://www.aldi.co.uk/sunday_special_buys/sunday_special_buys_pid_46613.html

easy to use and quick to clean
hope this helps and now off to make a fudge cake hmmmmmmmmm

Would you be a pal and tell me the measurements? My kitchen is very small and I'd really like to have one of the Delta breadmakers if it would fit. Your recommendations have made me even more keen!

I bought one last year from Aldi, one paddle was not working, so took it back and got replacement.

After about 6 months, again one of the paddles stopped working. I threw it into the bin. (Or I could have posted it back to their manufacturer but I did not bother). I noticed that the new one has 3 years warranty though.

That's my second breadmaker (the first one was alright, just too small for us), so I am going to buy either a MR or Panasonic after X'mas.

There are a huge number of breadmaking posts elsewhere on this site.

I got a breadmaker on the strength of this site - never regretted it. I calculate a loaf costs less than 30p - including the cooking costs. The bread is SO much better than shop bread, plus, I know exactly what is in it !

The best machine by far (see posts) is the Panasonic.

Soooo, now I'm torn! I guess I'll have to give it a bit of thought -- I don't buy a lot of bread, being on my own, but I still remember the fantastic smell of breadmaking when my mother was alive. I'll investigate the Panasonic and compare prices.

Thanks malamala and moonrakerz for the posts.

Other women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts

  • just a quick question do the loaves come out with a random hole bit in the bottom where the mixer thingy (yup very technical) and if so does that not annoy you for sandwich making etc.

Where did you hear that. Making your own bread is hands down cheaper than most other made bought breads.

Theres also the quality argument. I cant remember where I heard it or read it, but someone said that making your own bread gives you something close to an artisan loaf instead of some mass produced shadow of what bread really is.

Definitely. As has been said on here before, it'll obviously cost more than own-brand, mass-produced plastic bread, but it works out cheaper than their 'premium' ranges, and far cheaper than buying at a baker, and you know exactly what's gone into it, and can, for instance, control the amount of salt if you're on a low-salt diet. I think most people have found it to work out about 50-60p/loaf.
