lol you are correct up to a point but the ungrateful part i hope not maybe i could have used a better sentence than the one i did thanks for pointing that out to me but its very hard for a lot of people not just me when you have appointments 3 or 4 times a week sometime twice a day and you have to find £8 bus tickets for my self and some to go to hospital or doctors when you have lost the funds that were their for that reason0

If your on benefits you can usually claim travel expenses back when visiting consultants at the hospital? My Nan does. Or they may send a car to pick her up. I would look into this if I were you.
Also maybe you should mention to your support worker about getting a solicitor/or second opinion from her office to help with your case.
Write down notes of what you need to do.
You are entitled to extra help, and I find it disgusting that they cancelled it.
Good Luck OP.. Do keep us informed..

That is totally uncalled for!
According to the poster, he has been assessed as having no mental capacity to take charge of his own affairs.
In such a case a person in such a position is not able to attend to their affairs as you and I would do. He has somebody who has been appointed either by the courts or social services to look after their affairs in a proper, dignified and professional manner.
Likewise he cannot make any decisions about what should or should not happen with his life.
To say that he is ungrateful is an insult to this individual. He has no choice.
Put yourself in their shoes, how would you feel if you have no legal control about anything you do?
This has as much to do with the DWP and ATOS as it has with the legal representative.
The poster cannot do anything about this mess, and tomorrow the legal representative should get their backside into gear and sort out the mess that they created for the poster!
As i stated she was doing her job by looking into other things that the poster may get why is it her fault that Atos and DWP are no good think your blaming the wrong person SHE WAS TRYING TO help so stop blaming her.0 -
I got turn now on a review and went to appeal and won. just read what the OP says there condition is and what's wrong with them. And now tell me she should get there DLA taken away from them whos fault is that.
I think if you were looking after the OP interests i bet you would of gone for it. And as you say that Atos are only doing what the government had told them to do lots of people have been on here saying terrible things that have happen in there medical. Sure the government would love to know what goes on.0 -
OP if you're being assessed as incapable of making decisions SS (or an apointee) should be managing your money, not you. They should also be arranging your transport to appointments and providing someone to take you - what if you got lost? Why are you being charged £8 a day to go to hospital etc, do you claim it back on low income grounds/have hospital transport come out to collect you?0

hi all my adviser has got me to the tribunal stage of my appeal. now we have a diagnoses for my memory loss ie Alzheimer's she made a new claim on my behave i revived my decision refusing me again then a letter that was sent to the tribunal services that a decision has been made on my claim therefore if an award is made the tribunal should restrict the period of the award to 26/07/2011 because of the effect section of 17 of the social security act 1998. i have looked for this but cant find it any ideas what its about thanks0

Fight to the end tony. I lost everything and so did 2 of my friends. Two of us have been forced in to work. the other can't work, has got lung disease, like me, but is worse. I have been forced to do cleaning as that is all i can do. Which will only make my health worse in the long run anyway.0
-
Merlin, if you can only do cleaning then why did you say all of the following (just a few days ago)?
"The work is out there though. Me an Oh went self employed in May and are working non stop. Don't get any means tested benefits since yesterday now. He was made redundant 2 years ago.
I umed and ahed about going self employed, but glad I did now. His got some major jobs coming through now all word of mouth. We do a bit of everything. Gardening, cleaning, ironing, carpet cleaning. Next week we are delivering yellow pages, the guy said he would give us some work leaflet droppping as well. the carpet he cleaned today as led to this landlord wanting a handyman for all his properties. another one who we started by cleaning for now wants a seven bedrromed house decorated and chandeliers put up."0 -
Because I do just do cleaning, OH does the rest. Same as the yellow pages, I do the paperwork. He does the delivering.0
