    morning all!

dull and drizzly here this morning but still managed to go to the carboot - near where DS2 works and bought 3 more books - a Lee Child, Sophine Hannah and Simon Kernick - 50p each:T got a cupboard full of books waiting to be read!:)

Yesterday we bought a new telly - ours had a dodgy picture and was huge and oldfashioned so we saved up and got one in the sale at Currys. DS1 came round and set it up for us. We also got a new Vax vaccum cleaner - half price at Comet:T Mine blew up yesterday so an expensive day but we had the cash saved up ready which is a great feeling after years of being in debt.:j
DH has just put the vac together so I'll be testdriving it shortly:D

Pland for this afternoon are to just potter and do a few jobs plus fit in some reading time. We have to collect DS2 from work at teatime.

Dinner is reduced ready cooked beef and all the trimmings for the men and a quorn escalppe for me.Got a big fruit salad in the fridge.

BB - hope your legs are soon better

    enjoy yours day all x

    Hi everyone,

The final load of washing is now on the line:)

Just taken DS to town to get some new jeans, I persuaded him to get some that were a bit too long as I am sure that he is going to have a growth spurt soon ( he hopes so too as his 13 year old sister is 3 inches taller than him, he is 15!)

Tea tonight is roast chicken with all the trimmings and then an early night for everyone as it work and school tomorrow:( I have an extra day off as I have to take DD1 to Manchester for a big ballet exam, she is really nervous.

    Have a lovely afternoon everyone:)

    Hello all!
Older 2 back to school tomorrow & husband back to work. Than goodness, they get in the way of my routine! ;)
Have done my ironing & other basics. Need to get some bedding back on my bed. Bedding on the line, hopefully drying. We keep having the odd shower.
I need to swish the bathroom.
Husband has taken older 2 to the park.
Dinner is cottage pie for some, left over cous cous for others. I need to roast some sweet potatoes as well.
Just finished my coffee so I suppose I ought to get on.
    Love ((hugs)) & spoons

    Afternoon all

    I've been busy today:

    - cleaned kitchen
    - cleaned bathroom
    - tidied flat
    - hoovered throughout
    - had big sort out of clothes in my 2nd wardrobe and now have 3 bags for charity shop!

Still need to sot my room out but will do that later. Also had a bit of a pamper session too.

Whoever was talking about ice-lolly moulds (mind like a sieve me!)- they had some in Next yesterday in their summer/picnic/outdoor range for £2.50 and the whole range of stuff is 342.

I'm watching Goodnight Mister Tom at moment (ITV3 I think), I love this version so much. I read the book in school and it was great.

    Hi everyone

Almost back home, about 3/4 hour away just turning onto the M18 from the M1. We have had a good journey home, with no hold ups and/or problems.

Hopefully can get back to reading every day, been reading the "What everyday goods do you now consider a treat thread", while travelling home, quite interesting. Feel very privileged that we can manage nicely on our pensions, and do what we want, but still baulk and turn our nose up at the prices of some thing, we just begrudge paying outrageous prices for basics. I must admit I rarely go in the usual supermarkets now, apart from Coffee when on offer, and HP Brown Sauce for DH, had to go for some sugar free jellies the other day. Aldi & Lidl do seem to cater for loads of things now, and I use their meat, as well as butchers, and our local market. Lidl's OB soap powder is working well, hasn't upset my delicate skin :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and get stains out fine.

I got some cheese on Devizes market, the prices were unresistable, got some Channel Islands Brie and some Somerset Blue Brie, about a quarter of the usual large rounds for £2 and £3 each respectively. Also bought some Blue Cheddar when we were there, but only because it had £2 per packet off and made it less than shop prices :o You see cannot help but being MS even on holiday:D:D

BB - hope you legs are better soon, will have to try to read back to find our what you have been up to. (((hugs))) and good wishes to all of your who are under the weather, and Congrats to anything I missed.

Anniestar - how are you doing? & Lou ?

Well we have really enjoyed Wiltshire, had some nice long walks along the canal, will certainly be planning some more excursions to the area before long, but as ever, the Sun is calling us again, and we have yet another quick turn around to depart on Friday. Think I must pay my GP a visit before we do though as swollen ankles/legs are being experienced, and need to get them checked out. Signs of ageing I fear.

    Take care all DG
