Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 5th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I stayed up too late last night, but I did manage to cross stitch Dniece's name on her PE bag, it was a real struggle as I can't see as well as I used to & boy is my finger sore today, I used a soluble grid & it worked out ok. I also made a dozen favour boxes & I will make some more today.
Roast chicken for dinner today with new potatoes, cabbage & peas, all home grown, we are also harvesting our own cucumbers, lettuce & radish so no E coli fears here.
Have a good day everyone
Hugs Hester

Morning everyone
Bright, sunny, windy and warm here this morning. I'm first awake and enjoying the peace and quiet here.
Managed to be quite productive yesterday, still have several jobs to do today. Caravan awning is now properly dry so we need to fold it and get it back into the bag, DH and boys will then cut the grass, DH needs to collect his van for work tomorrow, and I'm cooking mahoosive piece of gammon for lunch, will have home grown potatoes, cabbage, carrots and broccolli, yorkshires and gravy with it. Have a few items to iron, hoping to get a banana and honey loaf in oven whilst gammon is cooking and also make something else for tins too. Hoping to continue with the declutter, perhaps start on the hanging items in my wardrobe.
Can't believe it's Sunday again already - work again tomorrow!
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning all
I had an absolutely lovely Saturday. It was one of those where you have no plans but end up doing lots. The new wine bar/cafe we went to was great. It's a bit on the small side but they have lots of outdoor seats so we sat out there all evening, and it was still warm until about 10pm. It was lovely to just chill out and catch up, and nice cos we were all driving so no-one was getting drunk! When I got back I bumped into my schoolfriend neighbour in the carpark and we had a catch up for half hour or so, she said that Toyboy seems to really like me :blushing: :rotfl:. He got back from his Dad's late last night so not sure if I'll see him today or not.
No real plans for the day, there is a raft race happening in the dock today so will probably watch that from my balcony. There is also a sandcastle competition on the beach which I may check out. The sunshine appears to have disappeared though
OS wise - need to put yesterday's laundry away, WM on with another load now, DW emptied, I've started putting clothes I don't wear in bag for charity shop too.
Have a great Sunday all

Morning my lovelies
flutterby I was at neighbours party last night and it bl00dy well wasnt warm here. I was in a posh frock outside and it was freeeeeeezingShe got tea lights etc all round the patio and it would have been lovely but everyone crammed in the house instead. It's breezy and cool here today.
bought a tent yesterday but we be driving all the way back to Coventry to take it back as we can buy it new on ebay for over £50 less :eek:
then I need to start tackling the house, which is a tip. I've done ZERO housework this half term, just not possible with having minded kids all week. Am dreading the summer holidays as I serously can't go 6 weeks (well actually 4) without doing any cleaning and weekends we tend to have as family time so it's not easy to fit it all in. How does anyone cope working full time?!!!!
So today will be spent playing catch and keeping DS entertained with his constant requests of "will you play with me" aaaarrrrrrgh!!!
Flutterby - Oooh lovely pad
nmlc - mmmmm I am coming to eat at your house today
Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -

Good Morning everyone ,well I had a smashing if long Saturday and got a wee bit sunburned.I set off at 8.45 and drove to Greenwich to meet up with my pals from Uni as we were doing a bit of the Thames Pathway walk around the industrial areas that are left before redevelopement .So we walked around the Dome then along the river to the Cutty sark site. Its about three miles .When I left home it was cloudy and over cast ,half way around the walk it grew warmer ,in fact quite a scorcher and by the time we arrived in Greenwich town centre it was boiling .As we had been walking by the river with no shade we were all rather scarlet .I then drove to Barnehurst to my DDs in-laws for lunch and a long chinwag until around 5.30.We had sat in the garden under their apple trees in the shade but it was even sweltering under there. Then I drove to Dartford to see my friend and stayed to dinner there which we had in the conservatory and it was a beautifull evening.Ther were six of us and we had some quizzes after dinner for awhile then supper around 10.00. I eventually got home around midnight after a great day out and this morning I am to say the least a little bit red.I have sloshed Aloe vera on as its supposed to bring the redness down so fingers crossed it works before my eldest DD sees as she will only tell me off !!! (I think she's turning into my Mother !!!):):)
This morning I shall pop to my hairdressers house and she will give me a trim as I am disappearing behind my mop of hair (which makes me even hotter) the sun is trying to come out and its cloudy at the moment by quite warm . No shopping to get today and I shall be off to my youngest DDs house by 4.00 for scrabble with the boys and dinner this evening. This weekend has just whizzed by.Tomorrow I have to drive to Faversham to put my car in for its MOT as its first one is due, and I am changing it on the 13th June for a diesel model.Hopefully it will cut down on my fuel costs.I shall also nip to see my sis-in-law in Faversham as she has been away in Didcot looking after her Mum who is poorly and sadly not got long to go.She is home for a few days to catch up on things as she's been in Didcot for a couple of weeks.
Only 10 week today until our holiday I am really looking forward to our fortnight on the Isle of Wight in August.Hope everyone is having a good weekend and the sun is shining for you where ever you are
Take care all
JackieO xx
P.S. I forgot to say when I was waiting for some of the class to turn up yesterday by the O2 dome at Greenwich I thought I will pop into WH Smiths and buy a packet of Polo mints .Then I saw how much they wanted for them and changed my mind No way was I going to pay 75p for a packet of Polo's, thats highway robbery and the tourists are getting fleeced0 -
Hi,
Thanks for the congrats on the weight loss :j I did a bootcamp for 4 weeks during May where you stick to diet and exercise 3 times a week. It cost £67 for the month and then they decided they were putting the price up top £87 per month - so although I've got the results, there's no way I could justify spending that amount despite the results. So I'm going to 2 classes a week at local gym, jogging and circuits which will cost less than half and hopefully continue to see the results
Just going to put roast in oven with pots and some veggies then off to church
When we get back from church will do some housework, eat dinner and then tackle washing mountain before snuggling up and watching a film.

Morning all,
First of all, Bitsy the shoes arrived yesterday :j thank you so much they are absolutly gorgeous, and dd loves them, just need to wait for the bottom part of the outfit to arrive and try it all on together, thanks again, you are very kind, xxxx
Bit overcast here today, but nice and blowy, so have got bedding in the wm, got so much washed and dried yesterday, need to persuade everyone to take their pile up now.
Dinner tonight will be an omlette and salad, dd's turn to cook, will have our roast tomorrow.
Need to hoover through and swish and swipe the kitcken, will then get doggies out for a long walk.
Dad was good yesterday, the nursing home is so nice and comfortable, his room overlooks the fields at the side of my house, he is still wandering at night, and looking for mum, but I think he always will. My sis will go and get him today, and take him home for an hour or so, and I will do the same tomorrow.
OK better get on, have good days all xx0
