There's no need to be so arsey. I have in my listing that payment is expected within 3 days, therefore if payment doesn't materialise within 3 days I can open an NPB dispute on day for. I don't really understand why you think these are 'stupid terms'?
So you agree your terms are completely useless then ?
I don't have any silly terms or conditions in my auctions and if they don't pay I am able to open an nPB on day 4 just like you...without any buyers thinking I don't really understand how ebay works.
On a serious note though and joking aside it never pays to look naive on ebay. Business or private sellers should always aim to look as if we know what we are doing as that can reassure nervous buyers and put off potential scammers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I don't think it is unreasonable to outline your expectations in a listing as unless people look into ebay T&C's, and they would have to look quite far, they wouldn't be aware that NPB can be opened after 4 days or that this would be a seller's standard procedure if payment had not been received within 4 days.
There is nowhere AFAIR that outlines this when you put together a listing or when you place a bid on an item. Perhaps I should change my payment expectations to 4 days and then outline the consequences but I don't think it is 'stupid' or 'silly terms and conditions' I have put in the listings.
ETA, I have just checked my account and it is set to activate NPB automatically after 8 days, not 4.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
Buyers who know a NPB can't be open until day 4 will possibly think that a seller saying payment has to be made within a lesser timescale, either doesn't understand ebay, or worse still is lying to potential buyers.0

Now I am confused, you expect payment within 3 days and do nothing at all about it until day 8 if they don't pay. Can't you see then that this makes your t and cs worthless?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. problem solved as buyer has now paid.
I get both of your points about having 3 day payment requirements on the site but where are people meant to find out about the 4 day NPB rule?If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -

There are often threads on here where sellers put their own terms in their listings, payment in 3 days. An absolute favourite one, "I can't be held responsible for items once I post them but will send you the COP to claim if it gets lost".
Some newbie ebayers won't bid on items with things like this on it, more experienced ebayers will place a low bid knowing that these terms mean nothing but will put a lot of buyers off, so they can pick up things cheap.0 -
I'm glad that I relisted my 2 items that hadn't been paid for, on the FLD. They've now closed with no contact from the buyers. Both of them had been buying lots of similar items over the few days mine were sold.
Hopefully they didn't pay for any of them & so will now be well on the way to being blocked from most sellers.0 -
One of the bidders has just messaged me to ask for an invoice so that he can pay, very sorry etc etc. I wonder if he's just tried bidding on something & been blocked due to NPB strikes.0
