There seems to be a price difference in the medications. It has been 5 days since writing to the GP about different medications and they have not even got in touch to acknowledge the letter.

How long do you think it is best to leave it before chasing this up?

As many people have said, it's the neurologist who decides what and how much to prescribe. So you need to wait until the GP contacts and gets a response from the neurologist, I'd leave a couple of weeks I guess before expecting an answer. But do make sure the letter has been read and passed on to the neurologist, the GP surgery should be able to tell your relative if this has happened or not.

    Hi!
I know that everyones different but I just wanted to let you know that i've been on lamotrigene for 6 years now and i've had no problems whatsoever whilst taking it. it took a year or so to figure out the right dose but thats me 5 years seizure free now! I have temporal lobe epilepsy and was suffering with up to three large seizures a day. In the 6 years I've been on the meds, i've had two beautiful kids and they have not been affected at all by the meds taken in pregnancy.
I hope you get the meds sorted soon

Hi,my 7 yr old son is currently on sodium valporate and has been for 4.5 yrs and last yr he finally managed to stand having a EEG done(he also has ASD) to confirm what type of epilepsy he has which is focal epilepsy,he was then put on to tegretol(carbamizapine)which unfortunatly resulting in him having TEN.What im saying is that you will never know if you will get SJS or TEN through medication, ive read/been told about people getting it through being allergic to something outside i.e pollen or other meds i.e paracetomol, brufen and eye drops,my son is still on valporate but will never be able to go onto tegretol again or other drugs in that "family".
