Garden Help Please

In my last house the garden sloped away from the house and was always flooded, so much so that during really bad weather i could have a pool covering nearly half the garden. The ground was clay and whatever i did i couldn't cure it. I often thought if the slope had been the other way, like yours, maybe i could have added pipes to feed into the house drain. Could you do anything like that.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
