To be honest I'd LOVE to build one myself from scratch, would be really interesting and much cheaper than my dream of building my own AC Cobra!

If you check out the 'Instructables' website you'll find plans to make your own motorbike.
They've got to be at least as good as the Chinese.

Not so sure, picked up a camper last year and the guy had his "self build" bike in the garage.
A frame, couple of wheels and tyres an engine and a rear mudguard.

Something like 25k so far he said.

I was looking for a cheap 125 on ebay and there was alot of people selling these Chinese bikes so as i didn't know anything about them i asked on bike forums and people where saying they keep breaking down but no one has ever owned one, so i went in my local bike shop and asked and i was told they will not work on them as they cannot get parts for them.

    ......

Linglong are a large Chinese rubber company. They're (in)famous in the west for their terrible tyres.

Just to clarify some of my friends had Chinese bikes and had a nightmare getting parts. For my japanese bike on the other hand I go down to the dealers tell them what bike I have, then they bring up exploded diagrams of my bike, find the part numbers, order them, then have them delivered in a few days time.

People who can't find parts must not be very net-savvy, there are plenty of places online selling parts for all kinds of Chinese bikes. Parts are definitely not the issue with Chinese bikes.

How do you buy parts if someone don't have the net.
