Exchange Euros on High St??
StinkyMonkey
Hello,
I have a wad of Euros which I wish to make into sterling and stuff into a bank account. Apart from shopping around on the High St (Post Office, banks, etc.), does anyone have any advice on how to maximise the amount I exchange my money for?
Thank you

I need to exchange them reasonably quickly, ideally in one go. It is not an amount small enough to flog off to friends and family0

The travel money maximiser on this site has a buy back section.
Remember to factor in insured postage costs of a fiver or so if you have to send them off0 -

For that sort of amount it's definitely worthwhile shopping around in the Travel Money Maximiser as mentioned above. The best places are all in London, but you can still send the cash by special delivery. IIRC the maximum insurance cover for sending cash is £2500, so you'd have to send it in two batches, costing about £5-£7 each. However, that cost will certainly be outweighed by the improved exchange rate you'll get - if you exchanged it at the Post Office they would probably take about 10% of your money.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
