Weekend 4th/5th June - What small things....

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D
Morning all!
I know I know, I don't post for a whole week and then I am so motivated I start it....Well actually it's because I got into work mega-early and have done all my pre-opening prep.
All is well in Josie's household, went shopping last night and got a few extras but used my £7 off a £50 spend. Useful seeing as I needed expensive stuff like washing tablets/pop socks/tuna etc.
Righto, the list:-
- [STRIKE]Check banking[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Ran WM overnight on eco 7[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Got it running again before 6.30 am[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Hung washing on line before work[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Lunch from home[/STRIKE]
- NSD
- [STRIKE]Charging phone off work computor[/STRIKE]
- Dinner will be curry in slow cooker, chicken left overs from Wed
- Stay in with DD this afternoon thus not spending
- Update debt spreadsheet
- Do some surveys
- [STRIKE]Do lots of jobcards for next week's work due to staff absenses[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Do lots of other catch up work this morning while it's quiet [/STRIKE]:T
- [STRIKE]Locate any additional purge sales[/STRIKE] and submit to boss
That's all, have a lovely Saturday, going to be a scorcher here again today apparently!

Anyway, I'm another one who's been missing all week - it's half term, that's my excuse:o
Of to a mini theme park today, bought with clubcard vouchers so very MSE. Making a picnic so only spends will be petrol and ice creams for the girls.
Ok, quick list:- check banking
- use clubcard vouchers for entry to park
- picnic lunch
- meal tonight at my sister's
- take sis bottle of wine - a posh half price one:rotfl:
- enjoy the sun while it lasts:j
Have a lovely weekend all of you - I shall be back bright and early on Monday:beer:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Morning ladies!
I too am guilty of intermittant posting:o
Already been to the park with the dog before it gets too hot for him to have a run around - warm already and the pollen is definitely back! Boo!
Not sure what's on the agenda for today yet but there are some things that need doing regardless....- Pop to Boots to buy foundation using a No 7 £5 off voucher, have almost run out so its quite timely
- Take library books back and pick up reserved book (Jodi Picoult is my new fad, thought provoking but with very readable stories
- Make sure OH goes to the butchers for the month's meat for him (I'm a veggie and this is the one job I make him do!)
- Check bank and make an emergency budget until payday
- Update spending diary - did the food shop yesterday and used £6 worth of vouchers allowing me to come in at £35, £10 under budget:j
- Do one load of washing and dry naturally
- Maybe do some school work, but will probably leave this until tomorrow when the weather is supposed to get worse
- Stick to diet
- Think about Fathers Day present
- All food from stores - pasta bake for tea, salad bits for lunch
- Weighed this morning - remarkably still on track despite the definite wobble during my trip home

Beautiful weekend, unfortunatly i'm having to spend it decorating and doing boring things. :-(
This is basically what i'll be doing to help my weekend along....
Raiding the parents shed for gloss paint (saves me buying my own)
Getting old clothes out for the kids so they can help paint (keeps them entertained for free)
Using up flour, eggs ect and baking some cakes, pies ect....pretty skint this week so need to use what i have like i have done for 4 weeks now :-(
Taking advantage of free listing weekend on ebay
Look online for deals for something called a "huggle buddy" as my son really wants one for his birthday....i have no idea what it even is!
Downgrade my sky package since the football season is over....i know i should give it up altogether.... :-)
Start my 1st day of no smoking...YIKES!!!
So thats it for me....sorry if i've done it wrong
Have a good weekend!
