Visitors have gone for a walk (2 adults and 4 children) so the house is peaceful for a little while.

    DW is on yet again!

Made lentil soup for lunch with hm wholemeal wheat & rye bread. Children turned their noses up at the soup and had h3inz cream of tomato instead, but the 6 adults all but polished off the lentil batch. Used up the bacon water, potatoes and cabbage from yesterday's dinner to make it, so it was OS :)

Picked about 20 strawberries yesterday and again today. They are so sweet and flavourful. DGS2 looked at them and wasn't sure as many of them had pale patches on the side away from the sun. However one bite had him hooked. They might not look like the supermarket ones but they taste fantastic.

Have a safe and happy afternoon all, Silver x

    Hello OS friends x
Having a busy day today but productive. Our wet room is nearly finished apart from my twinkly lights :p and snagging and is fabulous which is good because it wasn't cheap so is not remotely OS:eek::eek::eek:. However it has a walk in shower with a seat so makes it so much easier to have a shower. There are somethings like independence that you just cant put a price on :T:T:T

So we have gutted our bedroom today as it was so dusty from the work. Well Kids Dad did most of it but I directed proceedings. I have also written a very difficult letter about my pension that has been on my mind. But I got up and got on with it and feel so much happier that its done. Probably wont make a bit of difference but they have my point of view in no uncertain terms. I think that is what you should do NPM - write to the chief Executive. If nothing else its cathartic!!!!

Not sure whats for tea??? Pizza??? Im planning on doing some baking tomorrow if I can find some willing helpers x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Ladels and jellyspoons ive merged the two daily threads :)

Thank zippy, and hope you feel better soon x

I've had lovely day so far. Sunbathed on balcony for couple of hours, met the girls for a late lunch in local Beefeater pub where we sat outside in the beer garden in the sunshine :) then went for a wander round the shops.

I'm off out tonight too. Taking the car (everyone is - you can tell we are all old now :rotfl:) Going to a new wine bar/pub in the marina area. Sadly the weather appears to be turning, it's been glorious all day here but a storm is definately brewing! Was going to wear my maxi dress but may change my mind.

I had phonecall from my neighbour earlier. She went to view one of the penthouse flats here yesterday and the landlord has offered to keep the property for when we are able to move in (she can move few weeks before me at end of july) if we pay the first months rent now. It's identical to the one we saw last week so sound like a plan, I'm going to try view it Monday. It's similar to this one but cheaper :) It has 2 big double balconies on either side of lounge/kitchen so would get the sun all day long!

Off to chill for half hour before I need to get ready to go out.

    Have a good evening all

    x

ps OS wise - DW been on, another load in WM, both loads dried on airer on balcony, also I had to sew my strap back on my top as it had come loose!

Aaw Flutterby, it says the property is no longer available so we can't see it! Sounds lovely though with 2 balconies and wall to wall sunshine.

Hope you feel better soon Zippy.

Well, I cleaned the windows so I can see the beautiful Scottish countryside once more! Washing dried on the line although we haven't had any sunshine (summer was yesterday!). Hoovered round, folded washing and put it on the stairs ready to go away. Not sure what's for tea, depends what DD had at lunchtime with DS2 - she's on her way back now. Went out to get hen's food which has gone up in price, going to check for eggs in a mo.

Enjoy Saturday night all. Take care. XX

    Evening all :hello:

Had nothing planned today so spent the morning preparing the end of year accounts ... not finished but a lot closer than I was a couple of days ago :D

This afternoon I've made a lovely veg soup ... put beetroot in it so kitchen kinda resembles a murder scene :o

DD's put on a show this afternoon and we're now having a pj party watching BGT final

I've discovered this great veg co locally who do fruit/veg mixed boxes for £10 ... although not organic, they cost nearly a 3rd of what I was paying for half the amount from Riverfords :T
Tomorrow I WILL sort out the washing pile :rotfl:(gotta laugh or I'd cry :o)

I'm doing really well with my weight loss 24.5" and over a stone off in 1 month :j:j:j and not been starving - eating as much as I want of the right food and exercising 3 times a week.

Anyways, hope everyone is having a good weekend xx
