If you were looking for employment wouldn't all your tools/equipment be provided by the employer? what sort of things did you need to buy?

Have you been round all the local body repair firms and handed in a cv showing your past experience or visited and talked to them to see if they might have an opening coming up anytime soon? Could you perhaps even offer to work as work experience for free for a couple of week to show your skills etc?

All of the above..either because i have been out of the trade too long or simply i dont have the Personal tooling you need to work in this field,,Companys provide industrial tooling eg compresors/welders/paint booth but hand tooling is mostly not covered for obvious reasons..Sadly there are thousands of higher skilled people having to apply for lesser posts so for me too succeed i need to stand out..Eg mass tooled can hit the ground running..
  • If it helps i have calculated i have £100 to £150 absolute max i can and have shaved from my expenses pcm...so i would be able to pay that a month towards possible loanand if i can get earning a wage i WILL pay more.

So can anyone recomend any companys who might entertain me?...

I don't think you are being at all realistic.

Forget the loan idea, it isn't going to happen. Even if it did, the repayments would cripple you.

Stop expecting to be the bees knees in demand tradesman with the creme de la creme tools, these things take years to acquire, as do the skills to be efficient.

Get a job with an existing company in the same field.
No jobs going? Then how is your area going to cope with another business Doing the same thing?
  • The last part of your post worries me. I suggest phoning The Samaritans and telling them how you feel, or talking with your partner if you feel able to say to your partner how you feel. Depression is a dangerous thing - I should know - I've felt that way myself a few years ago, and ended up in a hospital bed having taken an overdose. Obviously, luckily I survived, and have made changes to my life to improve everything since then. PLEASE if you feel that strongly, and that depressed, get help... Doesn't matter if its the samaritans, your partner, a friend, a stranger...just talk to someone you feel able to talk to. Maybe even just have a consultation with a GP.
Things WILL get better, I assure you.

Apples2....-Hello all i am Disco Biscuits partner..I find your post very Judgemental...My partner does NOT expect to be the bees knees hes a bloke of 28 with our 4 children and he only wants to achive his goals and provide for his family like any normal Father should.

As for getting a job in the same field no disrespect but if you have read the posts he has already posted... the majority of jobs in that field of work you NEED to provide your OWN tools,I dont think that there is not ANY jobs going...There isnt many jobs in this work that will even batter an eyelid... but for us in our situation with all the expenses we have e.g Bills etc...He needs a job that has a sensiable wage..

I have to ask are you unempolyed????

Let me tell you something my partner has been unemployed nearly 3years and every job he has appiled for so far which trust me isnt just one or two its hundreds take one look and see that hes been unemployed for that long are not interested hence the simple question of if any one could recomend a company that may be able to help.

Its not exactly un realistics to want to get somewhere in life and provide doesnt do anyone any good just sitting on the dole..

Hello Devils-Adocate im disco biscuits partner,im very sorry to hear what you have gone through,my dad has suffered with severe depression for the last 21 years so i do understand what my partner is going through and what this can do to him..I try to keep him positive and reasure him that things will get better i just wish there was something i could do to get him the money to start a buissness or the tools to get into work in the trade he knows best,,or just someone letting him through the door and give him a chance to succeed and provide for his family. Most of the empolyers that he has gone to either say hes to old and they are wanting school leavers to train.
Iv also suggested to have a consultation with his gp but he knows why he is feeling the way he does and he dosent want to just give up which is why he hasnt.

If anyone has any suggestions would be very appreciated..:D

    .

I don't doubt the ambition is just and reasonable but you are mistaking judgemental with realistic.

There is a general message in most replies, a loan in this position is either incedibly unlikely or going to come with massive consequences by way of repayments (ridiculous interest rates).

There is a huge risk for someone in your position that the desire for a cash injection will be accepted which will have a disastrous effect on what is already a difficult situation.

My opinion is that unless you can find someone to fund this venture privately (friend/relative) who can support this until it become profitable, it is not viable.

I'm not sure what tools you require but do you have a cash converters or cash generator local to you? I know our local one always seems to be selling good make builder tools such as drills, screwdriver sets etc. I know you generally have to put down a desposit and pay weekly....might be worth a try.

Its not going to happen been blunt, he needs to look at other jobs. We all sometimes in life have todo jobs we dont like, but it pays the bills and keeps us of benefits
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
