His job is to drive up to someone's house, tell them he's got two parcels for them but they can't have them now and drive away again.

If you believe that you're as daffy as the driver.

And why is it OK for him to pick parcels out of order if he can't deliver them out of order?

do you know the courier firms systems and contracts?
scanning data is checked for compliance with the set standards
'failures' are flagged up easily
people who monitor data have little interest in the reasons for the failures

well from experience drivers have like a timed schedule on that scanner thing they carry around which wouldnt allow him to scan them off at that time BUT , if it was me think about it id just ask if i could take the label so i could scan it later in the day and sign it off , id much rather that than come back later and just save time

as im not and never will be a courier driver i can only make assumptions about it, im not daffy thankyou althoguht i think your daffy,

i cant answer your last reply as like i say im not a courier driver

a bit more common sense could have been used by teh driver

And yet it's perfectly OK for him to fail to pick up a package?

The problem was the absurdity of the situation and the driver's rudeness.

If he's going to be so mind numbingly stupid as to tell someone he's got deliveries for them but they can't have them he deserves all the opprobrium he gets.
