Richer Sounds (aka John Clayton) I personally like the service I've had from RS...but you really should contact MSE and get permission to post on behalf of RS.

I do things a little diffrent.
I would go in with a hidden camera, and if the person says 7 days then I would buy later after verifying the recording.
Then within the 7 days if I wanted to return it, and they refuse I would make a big deal of it.
It would therefore be a legally binding agreement
Many stores and people have done these kind of things, to later find out there call was recorded say "it was illegal" my reply "who cares you just breached your legally bindin agreement, and I have a unbios witness", sometimes I have to write a letter but most times after playing it back over the phone sorts out the problem.0 -

Sounds a little weird but if it works for you, great. How many times have you had to use it?Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0 -

I'm going to add my voice in the 'For' camp for RS. Used them for a number of things in the last 25 years or so, right back to the heady days of teh late 80's when running a mobile disco
Never had any problem with kit, or returning kit that went wrong, including a DVD player that was 2 weeks away from being a year old, swapped for a new one, no questions or comments!

Can the Richer Sounds Company Representative please confirm if the above 14 day exchange policy still applies. As I feel the Onkyo 5.1 Onkyo TXSR313AV Receiver I recently purchased on 24 September 2012 was mis-represented as being functionally better than the 7.1 Sony STRDH520 & 7.1 Sony STRDH820.
I visited the Oxford branch on Monday 24 September, with the intention of purchasing a 'bundle' similar to the advertised
£329.95 bundle Sony BDPS185 (MR), Receiver 7.1 Sony STRDH520, 6 Speaker Package Pioneer SHS100. I knew from an online check the Sony BDPS185 was out of stock, so was happy to purchase a better 3D Sony Blue Ray Player. Also on Monday 24th September it was still possible to buy the STRDH520 online , so I thought it would be in stock at Oxford.
I selected a Sony Blue Ray player, but I was informed that the Sony STRDH520 was out of stock and that I could buy online or it could be ordered in for this Friday. I enquired about the STRDH820, but it was end of line and out of stock.
When I enquired about the Pioneer SHS100 Speaker Package, I was advised it was end of line and out of stock.
As I wanted to purchase a system to take away that evening, the sales advisor suggested the Wharfedale MS-1005.1 Speaker Package. I explained that I could add on my esisting bookshelf speakers to make a 7.1 system.
The sales advisor also suggested the Onkyo TXSR313. When I asked if it was better, why £80 more expensive than the than the SRDH520, the answer was yes, Onkyo equipment
better quality than Sony, 2012 model, better DAC, all round better quality. I assumed the basic functionallity was like for like. I accepted the Wharefdale speakers as being better than the Yamaha, so ended up purchasing the Onkyo TXSR313 and Wharfedale MS-100 5.1 Speaker Package.
When I got home I unboxed the Onkyo TXSR313 and was immediately dismayedwhen realising it was only capable of driving a 5.1 speaker system. I thought the sales advisor would have realised I wanted a 7.1 AV Receiver, as I originally requested a 7.1 Sony System.
I was also dismayed when I realised the Wharefdale speakers were only 5ohm, which I understand is not as good as the more usual 6-8 ohm.
The neoprene cover has never been removed from the AV receiver, only one speaker has had its protective wrapping removed , nothing has been powered.
Can the Richer Sounds company representative please advise if Richer Sounds will offer a refund for the Onkyo TXSR313 which I feel was mis-represented, so mis-sold
and an exchange/credit note for Wharfedale MS-1005.1 Speaker Package?

Hoping to be a happy Richer Sounds customer again0 -
I sympathise with you for your situation. However, this thread is over a year old.
I suggest that you PM the RS rep, in case he is no longer monitoring this thread.
Or better still contact RS directly.0 -
Hi Mr Trenaman,

So that I can ensure this situation is resolved asap to your satisfaction, please would you PM me with your contact phone number? I can then make any necessary arrangements for you with our Oxford branch.
In the meantime, my apologies for the obvious inconvenience, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Sorry to add to an oldish thread but the Richer Sounds Company Representative account doesn't accept PMs.
Does the refund/exchange policy stated on this site still apply?
I purchased an AVR in your Milton Keynes store yesterday which I have opened. It isn't compatible with my eequipment and I have been told there is a 10% handling fee not only for refund - but also for exchange to a more expensive product.
Is this correct?
