Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows the average price for getting a yorkshire terrier groomed? I've been quoted £27 at pets at home which seems really expensive for a small dog, or is that about right? also does anyone know if the groomers at pets at home are any good?

Ask other dog owners when you are out walking for recommendations locally.0 -
I wouldn't leave my dog with pets at home either!
We take ours to a quiet and rather weird(?) Lady, who gets on with the job and charges £20.00 for our small-medium dog.0 -
If you could give a clue as to where abouts you are maybe some one can recommend their own groomer. We have a fantastic groomer, we are very luck yot have her. xRIP TJ. Our groomer charges £20 for Lucy who weighs 40kg so £27 for a small dog seems expensive to me.0

my Gizmo is a small dog, yorkie x jrt, we've been to a few different groomers over the years and never paid more than £22 for him.
I wouldn't trust pets at home with him!0 -
I pay £25 for my border terrier which includes nails, shampooing and clipping. If we have him hand stripped its another £7, but we stopped doing that when we thought it must be awful for him having his hair pulled out - I know thats probably soft on our part because the hair is loose in the first place, but ........ In between we use a furminator to thin his coat.0

Our Westie x Yorkie/JRT's had their first groom, nails trimmed, ears & eyes checked 10 weeks ago and we were charged £55 for the pair and thought it was really reasonable!0

Zara got skin burns at PAH groomers - that was bad, never again.
I am nto sure it depends on the size of the dog alone, also on the type of fur/cut/trim etc...time it takes
I pay £45 for Zara (wash, dry, earc, nails clipped),0 -
I do Oakley myself - never clip, but Furminator, ears, feet, etc. Last time I got a quote it was £50!!:eek:0
