Bathroom Solid Wall - Insulation before tiling

Solid wall house - bathroom will be tiled floor to ceiling. On the one external wall I'm wondering if we should insulate it first before we tile it? Maybe Kingspan or something??? Just dont want to tile it all & then find the room is freezing cold. There will be a radiator on the external wall. There is also a d.g. window is also on this external wall.
If somebody could please advise me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

We have a bathroom with three external walls. When we redid it last year, the builders fitted insulation to all three walls before tiling. It now has a radiator half the size of the old one and it was snug despite the really bad winter last year. Worth every penny.0

I had one external wall and had it lined with plasterboard that has a 2" or so layer of polystyrene attached to it, helps stop the condensation when warm moist air hits cold tiles attached to external wall.0

How thick was the insulation and what was it? I am thinking of getting our bathroom done too.
Thanks,

I don't know the name of it but it was - I think - foam with a silver backing on it. Perhaps one of the professionals on here will know the name of it. It was about 5cm thick.
The builder put battens on the wall and the insulation went between them. This was covered up with plasterboard and tiled.
We've also installed a good fan that responds to the humidity and have got rid of the horrible black mould we always used to get.0 -
Ah. 5cm is a bit much for me as our bathroom is very small indeed. Thanks anyway.0

Search for any of the following:-
Lux Board
Wedi Board
Aquapanel Thermal
All foam boards that do much of a muchness.0 -

Are all the three above boards comparable to Kinspan K18 board please? or is it just a price difference? If the latter, then I'll run with the cheapest? Thanks
Hi, Hubby tells me you can get thermal plasterboard which is foil backed and also plasterboard which is polystyrene backed. Although I would have thought the latter would be of more benefit to youx
