Shall I buy this Acer 3-year warranty for my new 5742Z laptop?

I have just ordered an Acer 5742Z laptop (for £229.99 from Ebuyer on Ebay) and given laptop failure rates I thought extending the warranty from 1 to 3 years could be a good idea. Ebay item 130521650842 covers both a 3 year warranty and accidental damage and it only costs £31.99, which seems good to me. Can anyone confirm this is the warranty I need for the laptop? Does anyone have experience of Acer warranties that is worth sharing? Any comments welcome before I click the "Buy it now" button!

Seems a bargain to me too.
Be aware that there is an excess payable for screen damage.* Accidental damage to the screen will require a 100 Euro plus VAT excess charge. This does not affect faulty screens.
A quoted five day repair, so not bad at all.0 -
Is the warranty with the manufacturer or the seller, who can vanish with the extra cash ?
And if you buy one from a EU seller you get 3 years by law, old Tony Blair used his only Veto to opt UK out of the 3 year warranty scheme, at the time the Labour party were taking very large donations from the owners of Master care warranty.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Thanks for this. Accidental damage is a bonus really, as I would think (hope) that my house insurance would cover this anyway.0 -

It's with Acer, the manufacturer.
I know about the Sale of Goods act, see my other thread about my faulty HP laptop where Currys want £50 to assess it!0 -
Did you buy the warranty - just ordered this laptop for my sons birthday - He is going to uni in September (hopefully!) and will be there for 3 years,
so it seems like a good idea?0 -

I haven't bought it yet as I thought I'd wait for the laptop to be delivered first and the warranty can be registered within the first 90 days of ownership to get full benefit.
According to http://smidgenpc.com/2010/05/07/laptop-reliability-ratings-which-laptop-is-really-most-reliable/ there is a 23.3% chance of an Acer laptop getting a fault in the first three years, so for the sake of £31.99 I'd say buying a warranty is money well spent.0 -

Wait...what?
This is the best crazy EU law post everSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -

Let's just hope that 15 people don't act before you.0 -
