in Water bills
I currently owe £298 on an unpaid water bill.... I am on a meter.
I really keep my water usuage to the min. I live alone and although I have a bath every day (no shower...) I only wash up once . sometimes twice a day and I use the washing machine about three times a week.
I am happy to set up a DD for future bills but when I queried it they want me to pay £50 a month and I really can't afford that! I was hoping to clear the debt at £10 a month and my usuage at say £25 = £35 a month I could just stretch to that...
This bill is outstanding from October 2005 and includes March 2006 bills....

Hi Ice....use the bathwater to flush the loo, and catching the washing machine water also would be useful.0

They are probably asking you to pay £50 a month to be able to pay off your bill before you receive a new bill and to show a commitment from you to make regular payments.
It is very unlikely they will set you up on a plan for £10/£35 a month. I was about to comment that your usage seemed high until I re-read that the bill was from October 2005 - you have probably already accrued court costs and solicitors costs against your name.0 -
Could you get a shower fitted to reduce the amount of water used? Or even one of those hosepipe things with a shower head on that you attatch to the taps?Amazon sellers club - member number 63.

I've been dodging the water board for 7 years until they caught me out the other day, anyway long story short, I owed them £500 paid it off with DWP but instead of them taking it off the bill they added it on and said I owed them £1000 this was for 5 years water, back in 1999, so I said sort it out and then I'll arrange to pay you weekly for what I actually owe you, they did'nt so I told them where to go, they said court, I said ok then, they never did. then the other day a lady called from the water board, she said, you pay £6.00 a week for 52 weeks, we scrap the debt, its almost £2000 quid so I said ok then she said, how do you want to pay, I said DD, she said SO, I said ok, job done, £6.00 x 52 weeks is £312. what's left £16.000 they are going to scrap it, will wait and see, she also said if I default on these arrangements then the deal is off. thats why I want it to go straight out the bank, then they cant say I have. job done.
Pls be nice to all MSer's
