So fed up and tired now :(

Having had the council sh*t all over my house over the last few weeks, I'm fed up and left literally in tears.
They've come in, fitted a boiler (but damaged the wall in several places) put up a splashback (that looks like it was done by a 5 year old) shifted my kitchen units around (leaving big messy gaps) fitted some vinyl flooring upstairs (and ripped my wallpaper while they were at it)
They also dented my fridge, scratched my built-in hob an scratched and dented my microwave.
My kitchen looks hideous, and despite being told on Tuesday that it would take "a couple of days" I'm now being told it will take "quite a while" for the contractors to decide if they'll pay out.
I've been crying all morning because I'm so stressed with the state they've left my kitchen in.
What can I do?
I'm 17 weeks pregnant and I'm getting so upset it's making me ill

Poor you same thing happened to me when my kitchen was fitted a couple of years ago so i can understand the stress your under.
Ring the council on Monday morning and insist they send an inspector round the one I got could not have been more helpful not only got all the stuff done he also got some decorating vouchers (think they were b & q) send out so i could sort out the wall in my kitchen where they had ripped my wallpaper.

No helpful, not helpful at all, if you cant be nice, please do not waste your time posting.
The OP is obviously upset, what are you, sadistical or summat
OP just ignore any other negative posts, some people have absolutely no meaning to their lives but to post rubbish.
Anniemake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Just ignore the clown above.Council tenants pay rent too and their belongings deserve to be treated with respect by the contractors.I'm sure they will pay up OP if you complain to the council.0

No need to get upset by it, give the council a call but politely explain what happened0

Just one question to the OP. Do you own the property that was damaged, or is it all provided to you from the council as part of your rent ?0

i remember 40 years ago when the council upgraded our council house and they did everything with skirting boards and fitted a new kitchen
i lie not when i say the kitchen wall cupboards were held up with 6 inch nails
so i see either council workers or those subcontracted still treat rent payers with the same attitude
really boils me
so sorry to hear your predicament OP,as said get onto the housing dept and complain and complain some more0
