Travel Insurance, pre-existing conditions. HELP!

Apologies for asking this question: I am sure it has been asked hundreds of times already.

I am going on holiday with my family. My mother has high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis, and has had a brain operation within the last 3 years.
I know it sounds really bad, but she is fine so all is good.

Now, the problem is I am looking for travel insurance, and I am looking for everyone to be covered for accidents, falling ill, etc.

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on where I could find a policy where we could all get covered without having to mention the pre-existing conditions, because the premiums online are coming in at over £100. I am aware that any claims resulting due to the pre-existing medical conditions will not be covered.

I'd appreciate your help guys!

See a broker if you want tailor made cover, but bear in mind that you won't have any cancellation cover should anyone be unable to travel for medical reasons as well as no medical cover abroad, no repatriation etc etc.

    no medical cover abroad? hmmm

I am on the comumbus insurance site at the moment and it allows me to get a policy which doesnt cover the conditions or a policy that does

in their keyfacts document, it says:

There is no cover for any medical condition for which you have received medication, advice, investigations or treatment
for in the last 12 months, unless such medical conditions have been accepted by us in writing.

I may go with the policy not covering the pre-existing medical conditions

If you decide not to cover the pre existing conditions, then you won't be covered on holiday should any problem associated with them arise as well as having no cancellation cover.

Hmmm...I would go ahead and pay extra for the insurance, but none of the insurance companies seem to have good reviews/feedback. i.e. people reporting they can't get through to speak to anyone and they have been waiting months.

As long as you don't mind having to sell or remortgage house or cash in all savings to pay for foreign medical bills, if anything should happen. Even if travelling to Europe, the EHIC only covers use of state services and people have been caught out being sent to private.

There are plenty of decent companies out there and sometimes companies that don't specialise in covering pre-existing medical issues are worth a try.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

Try Post Office (telephone them 0800 294 2292 . not in branch)

    Free-Spirit.co.uk (PJ Hayman)

    AgeUK ( 0845 600 3348) I presume she is old enough.
