Hmmm - that isn't going to help the product quality...0

Should do considering Lenovo stuff is tough as nuts and reliable.
Id probably say lenovo would hand over personal consumers to medion and they deal with business only products.0 -
Lenovo is just the consumer arm of IBM (It was bought by the Chinese 10 years or so ago.)
They kept the same factories and staff, basically they just changed the decals/labels on the machines! lolLaters

And you can't be saying there have been no changes to the models over the last ten years?
I think you must have missed the
smiley from your post! 0 -
Lenovo is not part of IBM.0

Prowla is correct Lenovo is its own company that bought out IBM pc/laptop manufacturing division so that IBM could concentrate on its server and software business.0

Lenovo is a PC retailer but not a PC manufacturer. That is to say, it does not fabricate its own motherboards, nor does it fabricate any other significant component of a PC.
The motherboards for all Lenovo laptops are fabricated by Quanta and Compal. These are then branded as IBM Thinkpads.
Lenovo's purchase of Medion is about building a retail presence in Europe with its own brands.
Medion is one of the largest PC retailers in Germany. Through this acquisition, Lenovo will have 14% market share in the sale of new PCs in Germany.

ThinkPads are now branded as Lenovo, not IBM. (I have an older IBM ThinkPad and a newer Lenovo one.)0

Out of interest, is the later one any good? I have an IBM branded (but post-takeover) Thinkpad Z61M which has been a dog. I'm casting around for a replacement but Lenovo worries me.0 -
