DLA processing times...

sent some info via recorded delivery 16th May. Royal Mail say the DWP received it 17th May. telephoned this morning and DWP say they don't have it.

I thought 2 weeks would be long enough to reach the correct department ? anyone know?

cheers

    yup right address in blackpool...

sent it recorded and there is confirmation on RM website, have to pay a fee of £2.20 to get the actual signature sent to me as the full evidence.

looks like i shall have to do that now and then re-send it all.

    ugh its soooooooo annoying!!!

    no you dont
only if you want a printed version
if its not on the site but is confirmed as delivered then the signature may not be uploaded yet
you can call RM CS and chase it up as sometimes they have access to it before its up
they can then email it to you

I have been diagnosed with spondylolisthesis in September 2010.. I suffer from ME which I've had for the past 17 years approx, and have been in receipt of low rate care component of DLA for a few years now, but since then I have also been diagnosed with sleep apnoea, and suffer from a handwriting stammer, which meant I was not too keen to complete the vast DLA forms. I did eventually decide to try and apply for mobility because of my back problem which is getting worse, and I am now struggling to walk because of pain (nothing has worked not even morphine tablets or patches), so I posted a review form to DLA back on 20 March which they received and I got a reply on 22/3/2011, stating that "it can take 11 weeks for a decision to be given" and only to contact them if I've not had a decision after 11 weeks.

So, 2 weeks is not a long time to wait to hear from them, but no harm in chasing them up.

    Good luck with your claim

I posted my claim, recorded delivery, over a week ago and Royal Mail web tracking is still saying "still in their network waiting delivery". Rang RM just now who confirmed it WAS delivered and signed for the day after posting! Apparently DLA collect in bulk and sign in bulk.

Furthermore RM said it would still take a day or two more to update on their tracking web site. I am a bit speechless but pleased it got there so no question of having to send a duplicate. Phew!

i guess even though it has got there according to royal mail - dwp could still lose it internally.... which is why i keep phoning to see if they 'have' it.....

I bet you are getting paranoid by now. I am getting that way and it hasn't been as long. Isn't there any way when you call them you can demand (I meant to say ask sweetly:)) if there is anyone else who may be able to help more. Have you asked if you should resubmit? In my case I have the copy on my Laptop as it was filled in onscreen and no problem printing out again.

Perhaps if you send a second copy it would double your chances of getting the award you seek:D

This may be a stupid question so I apologise in advance but are you sure you're speaking to the right department?

I sent my ESA medical assessment back early May and got worried I hadn't heard from them so called the number on the letter which came with the application. I got transferred to the DWP ESA helpline so looked at my record and said they'd definitely not received it. I wibbled a bit as if the letter had said if they don't receive it by the 15th June they'd stop the application. So the person I was speaking to said she'd ask the benefits centre which deals with claims from my area to call me in case it'd be sent there and no one had logged it.

The benefits delivery centre called me a few hours later to say that they don't have it but often it gets sent straight to ATOS rather than being logged so I was given an 0800 number to call them. Someone at ATOS answered, said yes they definitely received it on the 12th May and it was been assessed. Panic over.

I know the DLA process is different but is it possible that something similar has happened with your form?
I hope you find out soon, I waited ~4 months for my DLA, it was backdated but nerve wracking waiting.
