I still have quite a few items to close and I've already made a PROFIT (after fees and postage) of £170 so I am a VERY happy bunny!!!
Well done on your ebay profit. Well mine after fees will be about £50I listed 44 items and sold about half, most for 99p. I am totally fed up with it - if I price stuff too high they don't bid, price it too low it's really not becoming worth my while when I factor in the effort of packaging up the stuff
I only ever seem to lose out on ebay and getting a bit fed up when I seem to be paying more than 99p for the stuff I buy grrrrrr - sorry for the little rant there
Welcome to all the new faces, nice to see you posting. Thread seems quite quiet last few days but I suppose that's probably down to half term maybe?

I love the parcelling up, it's the listing on Ebay I detest! Can I join in please?
Got 2 days off work so I'm in decluttering mode - the moneysaving angle is me re-joining the library to borrow decluttering books for inspiration, and not just rushing off to Amazon to buy them, asI would have done once! And I'm finding all sorts of unused stockpiled stuff - I won't need to buy any soap for months!
welcome Sagaris! I love my local library, I haven't bought a book in over 3 years now. I can order books and renew online too so it's easy to use.save-a-holic wrote: »I LOVE my kindle!!! :j:j
I wish I could love the Kindleit gave me a headache when ever I used my friend, and now with my vertigo I couldn't use it anyway as staring at a screen doesn't help.
Beautiful day here, warm too, shame I was stuck in office most of dayI did escape for an hour to take work kids to tool stores to make some stakes for a project we doing next week. I spent most of today doing work for my Advice & Guidance NVQ, boring!
I've made a doctors appointment for Monday afternoon re vertigo (so you can all turn off 'mother mode' now!). I have been feeling very nauseous today, and didn't even go in minibus at all today, o gues it's not the travelling setting me off like I thought yesterday.
Tonight I'm off to meet the girl who was my student at work for coffee and catch up, which will be nice. I've missed her, especially now I'm stuck with 6 men :rotfl:!
OS wise - not much, had Lo's for lunch, need to make lunch for tomorrow, recycling taken out.
Have a good evening all

Welcome :hello: new Peeps.
HESTER can I have some of your getup and go as mine has definitely gone. I just can't be bothered at the mo.
Sitting here with a nice glass of wine. Giant dog has gone back to his owner. I had a lie-down after lunch and woke to find all 9 stone of him sprawled out on the bed :rotfl:. Have been through DS clothes, not as bad as I thought, he only urgently needs 2 pairs of summer trousers as he has loads of t-shirts that still fit him. He's 5' tall and skinny, so I always have to get elasticated waists. It's scary really as he's not 10 yet!
Have a good evening all

LW we've just made lasagne for tonight. Had a bad day so defrosted some leftover bolognaise, fried mushrooms, and roasted peppers. Cheats cheese sauce. Smells great.
Dr's appt was a negative so now got anti-emetics and a referral for an ultrasound. Grrrrr.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -
Bitsy - Do you mean that you're fed with buying stuff to sell on eBay and it costing more than 99p - or that when you buy stuff on eBay it costs you more than 99p (compared to people buying your stuff for 99p)? The stuff that I have sold is all stuff that I didn't want and was the result of some decluttering so I'd just have taken it to the charity shop anyway - I just wanted it out of my way. As long as I made a profit (any profit) to help chip away at the debt mountain I was more than happy. If you are buying things to sell on eBay and it's costing you more than you're making then I can totally sympathise - been there, done that ((hug))
Flutterby - Sorry to hear that you couldn't get along with the Kindle. It's diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks - if we were all the same then the world would be a pretty boring place!!
Welcome to all the newbies!!!
BEWARE PHILOSOPHICAL, MEANDERING POST FOLLOWS:
When we were at Eden Camp earlier this week it was a real eye-opener as to how hard times were back in WW2. There were actual letters that the servicemen had sent home to their wives, girlfriends and children and seeing the actual handwriting and the actual words used was really touching. They were hard times but, because of it, people were unified and pulled together more. I feel very lucky that I don't have to worry constantly about getting the dreaded telegram, having a bomb drop on my house/family and losing everything I have, having food rations and extortionate food prices to contend with, the constant threat of invasion by enemy forces, worrying that my children aren't playing with an unexploded bomb at the end of the street, etc.
But, it is bittersweet really, isn't it? Because everyone was more appreciative of the things that they could get and we were all a unified team, pulling together behind the troops, a proud nation.... It's a shame that it takes a World War to make us realise these things.....
Just putting my meandering thoughts into words...
Hugs to all

Hello all,
Its been a beautiful day here and I finally managed to get the last of the tomato plants out of the small pots and into the greenhouse soil...pepper plants are doing well too, so pleased with the indoor garden. Peas, beans, bok choi, beetroot and onions are all doing well outside, hopefully it will continue, but we are away from Saturday until 10th so hoping that DS3 and DD4 will remember to call and water them all.
Roast chicken with beans and baked spuds for dinner, we then had ice-cream cones for afters, great way of giving small children a treat I find...even OH had one.
Am going to do some baking to-morrow if I get time, I reckon that a fruitcake would be handy to have with us in Kerry, although we usually eat out a fair bit, its nice to have something with a cup of tea. Really looking forward to trip and hoping that weather holds as love walking and maybe even a swim in the Atlantic if I am brave enough....don't think that it ever warms up!
DD2 has a Kindle and loves it, have been thinking of buying one for me, but somehow feel I need the security blanket feel of books around me....the house is chock a block.
Hugs to those who are feeling bad in any way, welcome to newbies and thank you all for being my friends.
