    Can I join in please?

Got 2 days off work so I'm in decluttering mode - the moneysaving angle is me re-joining the library to borrow decluttering books for inspiration, and not just rushing off to Amazon to buy them, asI would have done once! And I'm finding all sorts of unused stockpiled stuff - I won't need to buy any soap for months! ;)

    Hi All
I've been to the bakers to alter the bread order for the feast & paid for the bread, I'm getting a bit hacked off by people who still haven't confirmed whether or not they are attending & if so how many of them are coming, 2 of them are families of 6, they can't decide if they are bringing their kids or not. This means we still don't know if we are catering for 40 or 60!
Lovely & sunny here so I've opened the greenhouse door & put extra water out for the birds, popped into th CS as it's near the bakers & found 2 books I've long wanted to read, Ugly by Constance Brisco & Two Caravans by Marina Lewycka, quite when I think I'm going to have time to read these I don't know. I'll probably save them til August when we are going to stay in a caravan for a few days.
    Hugs Hester

rosie383 I bought a Kindle 3g last year with my left over holiday money and its absolutely brilliant .I have around 36 books on it at the moment that haven't cost me a dime, and its just the right shape to slip into my handbag for when I am out.I took it with me yesterday when I was on the train to London and the boys were very interested in Granny's 'cool gadget' I also took it with me on holiday as it means I don't have to pack great wodges of books I can't be anywhere for long without wanting to read.Even waiting to pick the boys up from school it means I can read in the playground :)

JackiO I'm exactly the same. Even if I know I am going to be on a bus for 10 minutes, I have to have a book with me. Can't really think about anything else at the mo as it is being delivered soon. Too excited lol.

    I LOVE my kindle!!! :j:j

I've got hundreds of books on it as the classics that I love so much are free and I regularly check the amazon site for new more contemporary books that are free as they seem to rotate these and bring new ones out while returning the others to normal price. I've read books that I normally wouldn't bother with and have really enjoyed them and discovered new authors. I've paid full price (still cheaper than the actual book) for some too - but most of them are free.

Eden Camp was BRILLIANT!!! Spent the whole day immersed in WW2 and the Home Front - thoroughly enjoyed it. Then we caught up with the rest of 'Coal House At War' when we got back! A thorough OS day!!! :D

Have been busy ebaying for the last few days as the stuff that I put on over the last insertion-fee-free-weekend are now closing so I have packaging up and posting to do. I still have quite a few items to close and I've already made a PROFIT (after fees and postage) of £170 so I am a VERY happy bunny!!!

On the lookout now to see if any more stuff can be put on this weekend as it's free again.

Tea tonight is the usual Thursday 'Granny' soup - I'll have to make some more of it this weekend as we've none left in the freezer. Then I need to do a bit of housework (vacuum) and do my menu for next week and shopping list for tomorrow night.

My plants have REALLY come on since those few rainy days we had - they are thriving. I have (little, green) strawberries!!! :j

    Hugs to all

Can I join in today as well please?

I've been feeling pretty unwell - horrid cold and cough which stopped me sleeping last night - but I've got the house to myself for the next 5-6 hours. DS1 is out at his volunteering, DS2 is working on a project round at a friend's house. I'm going to slog through the work/accounts/home-ed/paperwork/rubbish etc mountain that is our sitting room and do a mega catch-up and declutter while I can spread out all over the room. I've even moved the furniture out of the way. This is a seriously big task.

I've washed DS2's sports kit and that's out on the line to dry. I've got the DSs to agree to do their bedding tomorrow since we have a very sunny forecast and then we will be completely on top of all the washing: beds, towels, dressing gowns, clothes, sports stuff (individual and all the club kit), tea towels and kitchen cloths - you name it! I feel very virtuous. Oh, and I've meal planned the rest of the week as well with minimal extra spend needed. Things are looking hopeful. (I'm not mentioning the fact that both the electricity and the gas bills arrived this morning - didn't need that one.)

I've had a big bowl of porridge for brunch. Making a cup of coffee.

The shredder is plugged in, so here goes...

Gosh, you're all busy bees on here aren't you?:) As a newbie haven't got much done today at all as I've been reading stuff on here! Done the shopping and made a cake for my son in law. I was determined not to overspend at the supermarket so added stuff up on a bit of paper as I went round. I used to do it in my head but can't any more ! I hope you enjoy your kindle Rosie, I got one for my birthday and didn't think I'd enjoy it as I do like the feel of a book, but it's great. Corned beef hash and homemade cheese and onion bread for tea. Wonder if they'll go together?
