I'm hoping tis a stashed nest rather than laying going off the boil, but I can't complain they laid right through last winter. I wonder if its anything to do with having the cockeral?
Photos - well I'm lucky that one of the frist lessons we had back in 1999 was in takign photos of flowers - they did say - you'll use this - but we didn't really listen, funny how we're all mad snappers still.
I do need a serious look at them (on disk/drive/laptop) and get them in one place. You're right they are a real resource I just need to fathom how to use them
Funny can't see the wood for the trees sometimes

Wow, lots of potential on-line opportunities for you Pippi, hope you manage to set something up soon. You'll be great, I just know it!! Have fun sorting out all your piccies too.
Well done on handing in your timesheet Pippi. I at last got around to sending my timesheets for August and September to my boss at the craft centre. She wants be to bill her for the hours that I have done as a self-employed person. So I suppose I ought to call her my client now, rather than my boss! I haven't thought of a new name for my IT work, do you think I should? My crafting business is going to be called Llana & Floss, too fluffy for IT work methinks. I ought to let the Tax Office about everything that's going on too...must root out all the bumfph I got from Business Link a few years ago.
I have also done a bit of work on her web-site for the first time. I have just updated her workshop listing ands tidied it up a bit. It could do with quite a face-lift/re-work, but have to step carefully as her husband set it up originally.
Right, that's the bread proving, will soon need its first session of prodding, then I am off to do some wood staining, before getting into the craft room....busy, busy, busy!!
Have a lovely day everyone x

Keiss - Nothing to lose suggesting an update even though her husband set it up originally. All websites need regular re-vamps to keep people interested and to make sure you are still able to provide everything on it, add new items/services and check pricing is still accurate.
Pippi - If I remember correctly Mrs Moo knows of a photo site where people can pay to buy copies of your images. Would that be another source of patchwork income once you have all the photo's together?

Morning!
Phew, have caught up with you lot at last! Lots of great ideas on here the past couple of days!
Pippi, yes you did send me a piggyback plant, thank you, it's on the windowsill at the top of the stairs and doing very well :T
Today going to try again at the Inland Revenue. Have to submit my first ever self-employed tax return, I did register for the online stuff and they sent me the special code - but then I lost it before I could even use it so now have to start again! Not much progress there then
Have a good day all. Back to winter again here.0 -
phew, mad day here. Driving around Wales for meetings that people didnt turn up for, charity shopping in new town (fab and
spent money on an M&S autograph skirt and a monsoon skirt = £7.50)
LT you read my mind. As I was skimming through the posts I made a note to tell Pippi about redbubble.com. It is a website where you can upload your photos and allow people to buy them as prints, framed art/canvas and cards. In fact I keep meaning to say that I would really love to buy a print of the photo of Einstein in your garden that you put on your blog a while ago. Tricia on another thread informed me though that redbubble have gotten into a bit of deep water as they are allowing somebody to market t-shirts that are a bit risky with regards to Hitler. I havent investigated it further as yet. Pippi, if you remember I sent you a card of Moo that was from Redbubble so would give you an idea of the quality. You can also sell your photos on your own website but not sure how you would go about that. I think that you can provide them via the computer for people to save to memory stick and print off. If you do show them on your own website make sure that they are watermarked and if people want to buy them from you then you could send them in email without the watermark perhaps.
It seems to me Pippi that you are ready for all of the opportunities that are starting to present themselves to you right now. Good for you. As you also have nearly 100 followers on your blog why not have a think about doing a giveaway of one (or a set) of your prints? You could select a few and allow the winner to choose one. That could be a bit of a promotion for yourself. You could also do it as a launch for your website. I won a print from a photographer by entering something on her website, it is beautiful and so I have recommended her to a couple of people so she got business from it too. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0
