Thanks very much for the replies.

Yes, I'm torn between Tesco and Giffgaff.

Giffgaff is payg isn't it - do I need to remember to buy the goodybag every month? My only concern is that if that were the case I would forget!

tmobile from topcash 30 day sim £50 profit
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Have a look at tesco mobile you can get 500 minutes and 5000 texts for £10 a month on a 30 day sim only deal. I think you can still get cashback with topcashback or quidco. And you also earn clubcard points as well.

You only get 250 minutes and no internet allowance on the 30 day sim only deal:

You say you want probably around 400-500 minutes.

Be careful not to "under-buy" inclusive minutes, you could be landed with very high run-rates - it's 25p a min on Tesco. Going over by just 20 minutes costs you an extra £5!

Giffgaff does have a much better lower 8p/min run on rate, the £15 goodybag comes with 400 minutes -but you couldn't buy another goodybag until 30 days after the last one, so 500 minutes in that month would cost you an extra (8p x 100) £8 on top. The £20 goodybag has 800 minutes, but suddenly we're double your budget.

Talkmobile do have a £12 SIM with 750 mins and 3000 texts. Might we worth considering if you're likely to be pushing the top end of Tesco's 500 min allowance but staying under 750. Talkmobile's run on rate is even worse (30p I think).

    Just a thought.

T-Mobile are doing that sim only deal again, but only as a weekend offer. I got 600mins, 500 text and a flexible booster for £7.82 (weird price is apparently to do with VAT).

I chose the internet as my booster because I want to use it in my iPhone. Definitely the best sim only deal I can find. I called 0800 956 5044 and spoke to a lady who reckons it ends Monday. Hope you get the deal and it wasn’t a one off.

Forgot to add, it's a 12 month deal.

I joined GiffGaff yesterday - purchased £25 goody bag

    1500 mins
    unlimited text
    unlimited internet

Yes the goody bag does run out after a month but you can buy a £5 top up on top of this which will last as long as you want it to and still cheap calls/texts.

It was very easy to join and set up.

You can set your account up to do automatic renewals if you want to. Also Im sure I read on their community website yesterday that you can buy a goody bag in advance.

I used 02 vouchers to set mine up online.

Check it out it's really helpful

Last time Tesco did that £10 deal I phoned Virgin (who I was with but contract had just expired) and told them I was leaving to get the Tesco deal. They offered me SIM only rolling 30 day deal with 800 mins, 3000 texts and unlimited internt.
