Like I say, not really sure, just a gut feeling really, I'll be happy to apologise if I'm wrong.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I'm ignoring the troll issue and replying because 1. this could well be genuine and 2. even if it isn't, serious replies could help other readers. Anyway, just a quick reply to say, if you have incontinence and live in the UK you should be able to get help in managing this (eg incontinence pants) through the NHS. Discuss with your doctor or practice nurse.0

Looking at summers other posts there is nothing to suggest trolling at all so think that is a bit unfair, just the suggestion on here will stop people offering advice and support.0

Could you shop online at Asda, Tesco or Sainsburys cheaper than Waitrose?
Could you alternate your therapies?
You can almost guarantee that one of the other 3 big guys will deliver if you have a Waitrose nearby! Do what I do and learn to only buy anything with 'Smart Price, 'Value' or 'Basics' on it
Even for Waitrose £13 a day is VERY high.
What is the satellite cost? Listed as £6?
What is the 26.00 for travel?
School meals/meals at work... assume this is £35 for school and you both don't work. Wouldn't your child qualify for free school meals?
I don't understand why you need medical/accident insurance when you are on benefits?
Don't want this to sound harsh... if the therapies were considered essential then you would have them on the NHS. You may even find that with the savings you would have some spare money to hit them debts and make you feel better!!
In regards to your OH not being able to walk and therefore work... this would be a mute point for me as numerous people who can't walk work everyday! Get him down the job centre tomorrow.
It sounds like you are over paying by ~£10 each month for your electric if they 'gave you one months back" in November. It is still VERY high... turn them lights off and all electrical products. I work from home (and the OH loads of the time) plus have sky box, our own personal laptops and other products charging and it doesn't even hit £40 a month!
Groceries... I assume this doesn't include smokes and drink and given your mental health issues and your OH is in strong medication both would be a very bad idea anyway.
Other child related expenses... what are these?0 -
Summer has said her husband has a weak heart and strokes so its not right to judge what he can and can't do. As to therapies we recently had to pay for counselling after my OH had a breakdown, there is a very long NHS wait list, if Summer was suicidal you can't afford to wait.if the therapies were considered essential then you would have them on the NHS. You may even find that with the savings you would have some spare money to hit them debts and make you feel better!!
As to saying she will feel better throwing her money at her debt rather than getting medical help for suicidal thoughts it beggars belief.
Summer I wish you all the best, but some replies you are getting are making me cross so think will stay away from DFW for a while x0 -

I stand corrected
just my view. Hopefully it doesn't remove the point from my other points.
I read "had a weak heart and strokes" but I see the OH still has a weak heart.
My point is that the therapy is very expensive and contributes to financial difficulties. IF the depression is due to debt then paying more off them might help. I'm not expert which is why there are only suggestions. :j
On your last point... I'm not trying to be mean

I'm too a little surprised by some of the post on the debt free board tonight.
Remember Martin's advice: We are not here to judge but to offer support.
Some posters seem to have forgotten that advice.

I was probably a little too keen with my comments.. I was trying to be challenging! Will tame it down a little I think.0 -
I also thought OveRated's reply was a bit harsh. Get him down to the job centre tomorrow, hmmmm, not very nice. Poor man sounds very poorly to me.
Why do people think you can just go down to the Job centre and pick up a job like that. Wish I could.0 -
I'm sorry that people think this is a troll...it really isn't ...don't know how I can prove this to anyone...send me a personal message and I'll send you documentation to prove all this..I could send D.L.A. letters and doctor's letters, receipts etc....I've tried to show the complexity of life for a lot of benefit claimants.I'm afraid I have a hard life and have honestly reported it here as I want to improve my situation...I feel guilty everyday for not working...but I doubt I'd get through an interview at the moment...and what employer would take on someone with my condition.
Anyway have tried online shopping, but have only got a debit card...couldn't get this taken last time I was on the Tesco site...but I will try again next week...when we have money
Hadn't thought of alternating the therapies..will look into this
I've been to the incontinence clinic...but they can't do much as I 'm on all these tablets...yes I know I've got to lose weight...I get a mobility supplement to help with the cost of all this..still go to the launderette a couple of times a week-gets me down I can tell you..might have a letter here somewhere about this if anyone wants proof..
We don't have an N.H.S. dentist around here - so we always have to pay something...and as I said, I will not get contact lenses anymore..also only entitled to one free eye test every two years..so, have to pay for the other one(35.00 at Boots)..so the Health Insurance (Simply Health)helps with these bills...I have proof of this if anyone wants to see it.
Satellite cost is really the computer insurance...didn't know where to list this.
£6.00 is to cover the costs of the bus to school..he walks a lot but not always...I've tried to get my son to have school dinners, he really wont and so I have to provide lunches..he reckons he'd be bullied if he had free dinners. (I've got a letter here from the school about it...send me details and I'll try to scan it or something).
Fraid not about the therapies the cuts here have put an end to a lot of this,I had counselling for years but this couldn't be continued as there were others waiting for treatment..I am due to be reassessed by a C.P.N....but have heard nothing about it yet.I have a letter about this from the Doctor's surgery somewhere.
The o.h.would like to work..but he's 58 and couldn't walk down there these days, his heart isn't great either..I keep telling him to go back to the doctors..but he will not.
As I said I will look at changing electricity provider...they were very reasonable when we started with them....but amybe we should move on.
No,we don't smoke or drink....health issues stop this...I never much liked alcohol anyway.
As for child expenses...I pay for him to go to Woodcraft once a week and to go on their camps...so I've divided these costs to spread them throughout the year.
Yes, believe me if I could get off benefits and work..I would, but at the moment it's all I can do to keep it all together...really suffering with this depression,it's actually physically painful as well as debilitating.I have a letter from the pschchiatric unit about my admission which I think I could scan onto thisThe debts don't help, run up because I've done a lot of internet shopping and spent a lot of money on treatment for us both over the last few years.
Please note...we realise that we'll be reassessed for benefits fairly soon and will probably lose a lot of money, I'm just trying to get the debts sorted before this happens.0
