 Be kind to me, this my 1st post!
My lovely Nokia 6280 developed a fault a while ago- initially intermittently (of course) basically the battery died very fast, but not always- sometimes it cut out as "low battery" then was fine again after.
Approx 4/52 took it to Carphone warehouse at Merry Hill (as the have "instore engineers". THey said it needed a software upgrade (I think that is the "answer" to everything!).. Did so (lost my data and games GRR! but I was warned and have the data backed up on PC).
Was no better:mad:
Took it back exactly 2 weeks ago today.
Last week I drove over as they hadn't called me (40 mins drive) and the beeping phone line just says "we are very busy call back later" and hangs up!!
The customer services "lady" said a bit stroppily that if I hadn't been called it wasn't ready and that was that (after a considerable wait to be seen). Apparently the engineer hadn't informed her they were waiting "for a part" and there was no "ETA" on the part- what part?? A battery:mad:
We are now a further 7 days down the the line (and a fortnight of contract use that I have not been able to use, though have to pay for...) and still NO call.
The real annoying thing (and I don't think I'd better tell CPW:o ) is that I've alreasy tried a battery from ebay (cheapy, took 2 days to arrive...) and it didn't help either! So it will have to go back again....
What to do?? How/who to complain to? What to expect (if anything) as compensation for uber slow service, loss of use of my phone etc (it is under warranty).
When I was in a chap also queuing with an N70 said CPW would replace a Nokia on the 3rd return for the same fault. Is this true?? I have tried to control my strops so far in the hope they'll give me a new one....
Thanks
Nicola
