No simply get the highest mAh figure that to can get or think are good value for money. The highest capacity batteries will always cost the most but will give you longer life between charges. A selection of batteries here to chose from, personally I would avoid ebay when they are available at that price. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I've bought some of the 2500mAh batteries from eBay and never had any problems with them. Of course its no guarantee for you but just to say that just because its cheaper on eBay, doesn't mean its naff.
Basically the bigger the mAh number, the longer the battery will last. They don't all have to be the same but it would be advisable for them to be so they all start running out at the same time rather than at different points.0 -
As said, the higher the mAh number the better, but how honest the manufacturers are with their figures, who knows? Do a search on Google and you'll find tests showing that not all batteries are equal despite what they may claim.
I've bought some 'Vapex' rechargeables from ebay and they seem to be OK.Charlie0 -
mAh = milli amp hour
in simple terms the higher the number the more energy it can store so therefore can run a camera etc longer on a single chargeProblem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problemsWell at least i learn something on the way

I saw AA rechargeables in Poundland the other day
http://www.poundland.co.uk/pages/offers/batteries.aspx
Was wondering how good they'd be at the price. Magnifying the picture it looks like they're only 800mAh.
The AA rechargeable sold by Poundland are only 800mAh which is pathetic when compared to say 2500mAh i.e. more than three times the capacity.
Check out the 2700mAh ones in the link in post #2 for a much better deal. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Also the poundland ones are the inferior ni-cd version which can be recharged far less than nmih batteries.0
-
Ni-cd have the 'memory effect' where you will reduce the capacity of the battery if you do not let the battery discharge completely before recharging.
NiMh batteries do not suffer from this.Charlie0 -
Can I jump on the bandwagon and ask a question please?
If I buy the 2700 ones in post 2 - can they be charged in my existing charger? And will they just take longer to charge as it is quite an old one? It's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission0 -

I've bought those batteries from poundland and use them in mp3 speakers, wireless xbox controllers. I also have a set from ebay which are equivalent to those 2700mAh ones described in post #2.
Although the poundland ones on paper are three times less capacity of the others. Having got both sets I wouldn't class them as "Pathetic", they last just as long as the those with high capacity when using them in high drainage items such as mp3 speakers.
They're definately worth buying a couple of sets for a pound a go.0
