The Irish call a turnip a swede and a swede a turnip.
In Scotland a Swede is a yellow turnip, In England if you are buying seeds a swede is a Swedish turnip, I have never heard anyone call a white (Milan) turnip a swede in Ireland or here, In Scotland we call white turnips white turnips. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head.
