Why didn't I think of that? Thats brilliant! I usually do daft names like Maple Syrup or Jam Sponge, lol. No wonder the SAs look at me weird sometimes.

Now taking the risk here, am about to post drivel...

I woke up from a beautiful dream - Humungous bottles of comfort fabric conditioner were scanning at 20p in Waitrose and I used 40p "fashion week" coupons against them and the SA was laughing her head off. OH had been in before me and a similar thing had happened with Sure deodorants, and he'd left a trail of them on the shop floor as he left the store. OH reckons Im a weirdo!

Dreams involving a partially dressed Robbie Williams and/or Jason Statham and coupons are heavenly. Better still - imagine either of those two covered in coupons. Mmm, must get a grip before Im turfed off into an obscure thread.

See I did "mention" the coupon word - 3 times so it counts.

Bytheway, nice to see you posting Princesscoupon. How's your little one?
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: nearly spat my drink out when reading that!

It would appear there was an attempt to have people vote for two threads (one coupon - one drivel) but as the vote didn't quite go as planned the results were just ignored. I'm a long time lurker and shall continue lurking ON THIS THREAD. People voted for what they wanted and what they wanted was NOT for a small group of regulars to hijack the thread. These people may well have been posting for some time without interuption from others but for every poster there are ten lurkers and, at the end of the day, we all count. Just take a look at the final voting numbers again and you will see how true that is.

Thank you for your time - a dedicated lurker.

Errm, not quite sure what you mean by hi-jacking the thread jokers.

I have been on the Non Coupon Related Drivel thread and see it as an extension, somewhere people can chat about anything they want without being reminded that their posts have to be coupon-related (however loosely ;)). If it also helps to reduce some of the non-coupon related posts from here then that must be a bonus for whoever maintains the thread.

People on this thread (myself included) have had fantastic support from both regulars and newbies. It has constantly been stated how friendly and helpful this thread is, which is why I voted to keep it as it is (and why I keep coming back :)). However, I can also see that, as it is, it has become a problem to keep track of the posts easily, which is why I thought Blue's suggestions involving both IS and Moneytight made sense.

I enjoy this thread and voted to keep it. I will also continue to post on it, as well as posting on the drivel thread. I do not see the drivel thread as 'a small group of regulars trying to hi-jack this thread' but as an annex to a hugely successful and popular thread (which has become so popular through the efforts of everyone who posts on here).

At the end of the day, updating the coupons lists is a time-consuming job and I, for one, appreciate all the hard work that IS has put in and am grateful that Moneytight and BedtimeBear are also prepared to offer to help. :A

The drivel thread won't last. I was told it had been tried before - splitting the thread and it resulted in rows and bad feeling with folks not sure what they were allowed/not allowed to post on the coupon only thread.
Its a shame a poll was started in the first place if its just going to be ignored. Why bother with it?
Giving up on a long term commitment can be difficult- I know that from my life on another forum. I made countless attempts and then changed my mind. It appears IS is going through the same. The thought of turning the thread over seemed good but when it became real( and the poll overwhelming voted for one thread) it just became too difficult to do. I do understand that bit. But let's get rid of the poll now as its a bit of a farce.
Might also be an idea to close this thread and start afresh with a list of do nots to start with

can you not just give it a few days to see if it works
why try whipping up bad feelings so soon.

    agruments get us no where
i like this thread as is in a way but it does get bogged down with lots of unrelated coupon stuff
so if the drival thread even cuts this down alittle surely that helps.

if rules are posted perhaps both threads need them

    now i'll run and hide

well the final decision on running 2 threads lies with me, if having 2 threads again causes rows and confusion and a load of work for me then it will stay as a combined thread and I'll close the drivel thread

if someone else is going to run the thread I will need to know so I can start a new thread wtih them as the owner

I'm sole BG on here (more or less) referrals and pensions , I work full time so only get a limited amount of time to keep an eye on things across several areas of the forum

it's time consuming for me if I have to move posts between threads as I have to read EVERY post
