Coupon and chat mixed threadcrabbyethel wrote: »Thanks for replying, my receipt is at least 12" long with all the voids etc and all they took off was the 4pt Milk 2 for £2.00, just wondered if I could go back seeing as 2 packs were free. Do all Asda's reduce the price of a coupon if they sell it for less? Last time I was in there a few weeks back with a £5 quantamatic coupon was told at first the coupons had to be 10% of the value of the shop until a supervisor ok'd it! OH refuses now to come with me if it involves coupons.
Your Asda sounds like it needs serious educating about its own policy.
Their 10% rule actually ended ages ago, not long after both Tesco and Waitrose ended their "one of a kind as long as we stock it" policy.
I have never experienced a problem redeeming a £5 quantumatic, I cannot see a problem if you are buying the product.
Of course, most couponsafe printables do have small print saying that it is not to be used in conjunction with any other offer so when push comes to shove all the big boys can refuse to take the coupon if it is already on offer, but that is rarely a problem. As with the "free produce" vouchers like the rice fusions, the coupon itself states UP to a value rather than one specific value, making its own allowance for an item at different prices in different stores. Therefore, I suppose Asda could have put through both coupons at just £1 each and left you with £1 to pay. The huggies starter kits are useful examples - the coupon is worth £5 and does actually scan for £5. When Asda have their baby event this item is often reduced to £3. Sometimes the SA will pick up on this at the till and only allow £3 for the coupon whereas others will not either notice or give a monkey's bottom and you gain an extra £2 off your shopping.
Im probably waffling and making your dilemma harder than it need be to understand. I'm good at that! lol.
If your receipt definately does not allow for the 3 for £3 offer on the rice fusions and these items are disguised amongst a long receipt as you suggest, CS is not to know that the two coupons used at £1.79 each were for birds eye rice fusions (unless you tell them) they could have been for something else. If it were me, I would go to CS. While you are there you could ask them to clarify their coupon policy.
I know others on here have emailed Asda about this issue and have received a response. It may be worth you doing the same and carry their response with you.Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x

Ive only got an account for the freebies/coupons/competitions. Why not just open one for that purpose. There have been quite a few goodies up for grabs. Im too busy wombling and standing in my shed admiring my increasing stash to faff about posting nonsense on fb - just give me the coupons!Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. Idlesaver in chargeBlue has a possible solution to the thread updating:eek:
Moneytight could do what I did when PC was the thread updater and was on holiday. They could have a blank post after the coupon posts on the first page and then post all the new coupon links on it as they come along on the thread. Then Idlesaver when she has time could then just copy all the coupons from that post and then pm moneytight to say they have been done and moneytight could erase the links and start again. Moneytight has just one post to keep up to date and Idlesaver has one main one to read and can skim through the cr*p (talking bout Blues posts, don't get offended by me calling posts cr*p everyone).
This then gives moneytight an idea what he/she is getting themselves into without taking on all the responsability and then Idlesaver can decide if she wants to carry on and moneytight can decide if it is too much hassle or if he/she can keep up.
Evening All, :hello:
Wow, not been on thread for a couple of days again and the world has changed – we are now going to the polls.
I initially read IS’s post as her wanting to give up maintaining the thread altogether, but then read another one that seemed to be saying it was the time taken in sifting through all the chat posts that was the problem (am I right IS?). If this is the case, then I think Blue’s suggestions sound good.
I think IS has done a brilliant job and if she is happy to carry with a less cluttered way of identifying coupons posted on the thread then she has my vote. :AIt would be a bonus for all of us if Moneytight could help to maintain it as not many people can give the time needed to keep this thread running smoothly. Thanks for volunteering Moneytight, it’s really appreciated. :A
Having said that, I do like the chat, banter and support on this thread and would like to keep it as one – it is so much more than just a printable coupon thread (we could split it into so many other threads – the Supermarkets thread, the Wombling thread, the Who Has the Worst (or should that be the Best) Trouts thread, the I Need a Bit of Support and a Jefery Hug Today thread, I could go on).
If Blue’s suggestions were put in place, then people who don’t want to read the chat could just look at the first 2 pages for the coupon links, whilst the rest of us could continue posting and asking giving advice and support to/from those that wanted to read it.
Phweeeew. That was longer than I meant it to be – election broadcast over – vote for me!!

Idlesaver in chargeHi all. Long time no see. Hope everyone is OK etc. Lo and behold, we actually received one of our two £10 wins with Velvet and those dastardly squirrels. Was quite a nice surprise. Did everyone else get some of their cheques eventually? Have a top weekend all and enjoy the weather too x x MIMI x x0
