Ooh thank you Aesop. Any other tips about the GFS from others would be greatly welcomed but thanks to Blue for the OP :) Not sure whether to get some tickets or not...I'm fab at procrastinating!! But if I'm gonna buy them with Clubcard vouchers, I've only got til midnight, today is the last day to order!!
Just booked for me and DD12 to go to the gfs on the saturday, she deserves a nice girly day out and with the family and friends railcard and kids go free at weekends it worked out quite reasonable.

I was wondering about the GFS at Birmingham, I'm sure many of you have been to a gfs and I was after some tips and information.

Is it still worth going to and do you still get lots of mocs.
Do you get any free stuff.
Is it a good day out and do you get to taste things etc

    Thanks for any advice:)
The GFS is a brilliant day out :D
You get lots of MOC's in a booklet. Saves trawling all the stalls to rob them of their MOC's whilst their backs are turned:rotfl::rotfl:
There is lots of free samples. Mad likes the cheese stalls:D also the odd whisky sample;)
Lots of entertaining stuff with regular BBC presenters cooking.
What we usually do is go round and round stuffing our faces though:rotfl::rotfl:
Take a trolley with wheels to carry your MOC booklets and anything you may wish to buy.

    Morning all
Wendy – hope you soon feel better and can get out couponing soon. You say you have saved £75 with MOC’s and CS – what is CS please?
CW – wow, how lucky was that joining when you did. Wish I would have known about this thread sooner. Just thinking about how much I could have been saving instead of spending.
Bullshot – looks like you were very lucky too. The problem with MSE is that there are so many forums and I have dipped in and out of various ones, not realising what I could have saved from here. Now I Know.:rotfl:
Saversue – hope you are soon feeling better too.
Myalphabetgirls – love your username. I used to be called alphabet girl at school as my initials were ABC! Presume you live in the Bristol area, had a little chuckle when I read “gert lush” – I remember when I first moved to Bristol area and heard this expression and had no idea what it meant. Now I love to hear that expression.
Judebristol – sending you hugs – you sound as though you are a loving and caring partner and life must be very different for you now. Sounds like hubby is enjoying his wombling though.
Moneytight – I have no problems with a newbie taking over especially if you have the time to spare. Go for it I say.
Dawnie – sounds like a hectic week, hope all goes well for you. What a lovely gift you received.
    Have a good day all.

    Morning all :)

Lovely sunny day here and going to take OH and DD down to the coast for a little outing. Might just nip in to Sainsburys on the way home and pick up some rice fusions ;)

bullshot Thanks for the hugs :) OH slowly getting better, but been knocked back a bit by a rotten cold. He's looking forward to getting out today and having some fish n chips. Heading for a quiet place on the coast which is a favourite of his. I'm getting all sorted for new full time job in September and gradually doing more hours at the moment, so will be around a lot less in a few months time. Hope all is good with you and good luck with the fishing.

((hugs)) to all those that need them and wishing everyone a lovely day.

Have to confess that I had a smile when I read gert lush too. I'm not from Bristol but was born not a million miles from there and gert was certainly in use where I lived. :D

A few people on here have mentioned their Boots stashes- I still have quite a few bits from 3 years ago when I used to boots alot. Whatever happened to that thread on MSE? It used to be very popular but I can't see it anymore?
