does this 5th birthday party sound ok to you??

hiya, im holding my youngest 5th birthday party in 4 weeks time in the local community centre. I have the hall from 2pm-5pm.

party is 2.30-4.30pm

Please, be honest and does it sound ok and a fun party??.

ive invited 60 kids ( foundation class, which our son is in).

bouncy castle, ,
party games....
(2X) parcel parcel, (sweets, and a small board game for main prize)
sleeping lions,
musical statues,
2 pin the tails on the donkey
music to dance to.

party bags are all sorted with the following inside:..
slice of cake,
funky pencil
small paintbrush and magic painting book
small bouncy ball
small pack of love hearts
small lolly

Is there any other things you might think are going to be fun .

Ive ropped my 3 elder children (17,15,10 and hubby to help, and a couple other people also..)

Any tips, or do you think this party will be fun...
considering the party guests will be 4/5 yrs old.

many thanks...
xx

If you are feeling artistic what about quick face painting?

Though to be honest it sounds good to me so far.

What are you doing food wise for the children?

You could consider name labels of some kind with all those children but other than that it sounds great.
You could have the labels ready with their names on and as they arrive they could colour it etc if they want to or simply wear it with just name on. I would just do stick on labels as the ones round the neck could be dangerous when on bouncy castle.

    Have a great time

Sounds fine to me, my 7yo would love to go to a party like that, good idea to have x2 of the pass the parcel and pin the tail with that many children going, save 59 children lining up to play or sitting in a huge circle waiting an age for their turn!

Don't have any advice as such, but 60 kids is a lot!

I would have left it to about 10-15 close friends.

Wow! That's a loooot of kids! So far your plan is already good. Better coax a handful of your friends to be of assistance during the party. How about something less messy than a slice of cake for the goody bag? 2-3 pieces of chocolate maybe? Packed in a mini parcel? For games it would be a nice idea to divide the kids into groups and have group games such as a simple obstacle course race.

Definately recommend name stickers... much easier (even with a smaller number) to recognise the kids, especially if other helpers don't know them and it helps keep a track of all the children that have turned up (you inevitably have someone who doesn't turn up but doesn't let you know). I usually do a parent number sheet too. In the past with parties I have done, some of the parents have wanted to leave the children and go home/pop out for a bit if they do then atleast you have a contact number if their child has a problem. I tend to put the the stickers and the phone sheet on the same table near the door and then the children can be finding their name whilst their parent is filling in the sheet!

    Party sounds good though.

60 is a huge number for a party so make sure you have lots of reliable adult help on the day so you get a chance to see your son enjoying himself.

Perhaps have a happy birthday banner or something drawn up on back of wallpaper or similar so that they can get down to something when they are all arriving (rather than all pile on the bouncy castle immediately) or have 4 smaller ones and that splits them up a bit - and would also give quieter chn the chance to do something if they don't feel like bouncing. If there are 60 of them I would also take something that will make a noise above the castle and their screams when you want them to start a game or have their party tea so you dont spend an hour trying to round them all up.

Also make sure you have somewhere sorted for the 120 shoes that are going to be taken off!!! and maybe a peg for them to be joined to their partner.

Lots of adult supervision for the bouncy castle, and plenty of cloths to apply cold water/a few ice packs - just in case of bumps and a vast amount of bin bags!

    Good luck

Personally I wouldn't face paint with all that you have going on. You will never manage 60 kids face painted in the time you have and being able to supervise all the other stuff that is going on.

Won't it have gone off by the time the party comes?

As you have 3 other children who have all turned 5 and presumably went to/had their own parties, what do you think?!
