    Hi mumof3mk,

Sounds like a great party - athough you will have your hands full with so many little people!

On the practical side of things, I have found that putting someone in charge of pressie collection as everyone arrives is usually helpful (perhaps one of your older cildren) - making sure that card and present stick together - in case you are doing thank you notes after the party. Be a big job though with that many!

Also, you will need to find out if any of the guests have inhalers etc - know it sounds a bit over the top - but have been to so many parties where a child has been dropped off by older siblings etc, and only after bouncing about like maniacs for a while, realize that they should have brought it with them! Most parents/carers are sensible and tell you about diet and health issues before they skip off home for a couple of hours, but there is always one!!!:rotfl:

If anyone offers to help - grab it with both hands!

I'm sure your little one will have a fab time - it sounds like you have worked hard to cover all bases.

    Apple :)
You can't have everything.........where would you put it?
  • I think it sounds great, lots of advice on here with reagards to name labels and pegging shoes together.

My son went to a party a few weeks ago at a village hall with bouncy castle etc like yours but they had a gazebo set up with some lights tied around and glitter ball hanging from the middle as the dance floor - i thought this was a great idea as the bouncy castle was full of over excited boys being wrestlers!! which left a nice calm dance flooor for the girls in lovely pretty party dresses. Just an idead?

    yes, sorry, typing error!..

Won't it have gone off by the time the party comes?

cake will be either bought the day before or made the day before.lol

As you have 3 other children who have all turned 5 and presumably went to/had their own parties, what do you think?!

I was never able to afford parties with my other 3 children,, so they had a meal out instead.
Im now a mum of 4 children. but dont know how to change my username.lol

Not a good idea to favour the youngest in this way - especially when you've roped your other children in to help!

Have you got any prizes for the other games?

The only thinng I would be wary of is with 60 children, you don't want to play games where many children are "out" of the game. As you'll have 50 children running around, with 10 still waiting to see who is going to win. So musical statues etc is fine, but make sure that your strategy involves everyone (for example, give a very small prize to the winner of each turn and then everyone can have another go etc.).

    It's a kid's party - she's not rewriting her will!

Had another thought too - some parties we've been to the kids have a party bag with their name on from the start so they can put any prizes/sweets etc in rather than start chomping them while bouncing iyswim.

Also with 60 keep a close eye on toilets - party pop and bouncing and they'll want to go and wash their faces to cool down etc etc.

Could play corners too - play music, when it stops choose a corner to go to preferably with an adult in each corner and then say a rhyme to point round and choose a corner to be out. Is a nice quick game and you can have however many winners you want (6-8) then play again. Would be a good one as well to get them ready for party tea as you could send each little group that is out to go and get their party tea so you don't have 60 running for the food at once (so in a sense the losers would then be the winners!)

My little girl is 5, and we just had a small party at home this year for her. There were 10 kids, but in a small-ish house and garden thats quite a lot!

I just did lots of food, and that was it. Didn't have music or games or anything. They all played with garden toys, and ate lots basically.

I've been to a party where a mum tried 'too hard' to entertain all the kids, playing party game after party game, and some kids got bored, some didn't win anything, some didn't like joining in etc. The birthday girl in question at that party spent a lot of it crying...

Another party we went to had a bouncy castle and lots of food etc too. They had 2 adults supervising the bouncy castle which was a good plan with all those excitable kids!

One of the things I was suprised about at my girls party this year, was how many mums just dropped their kids with me and left. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my girl yet (maybe I am gonna be one of these over protective mums!) but I tried to get a phone number for in case of emergency.

I would say, that even if you have invited 60, that not all will come. Some may already have plans or just not like parties or whatever.

Main thing is to chill I think. Your son will have a fab time. Try not to over plan or over think things. Kids play all day long together and often like a cardboard box better than the toy that came with it. They have fab imaginations at 5 and will love it. Be prepared to have a headache after the event tho, lol!

I'd suggest a whistle for the helpers, especially for the bouncy castle, if you need to stop the kids quick they will respond to a whistle because most schools teach even young children to stop when a whistle is blown.

What about a soft football, having had parties for my boys, not everyone likes bouncy castles ot they get bored, one of your older children could referee a match.

Also with having such a lot of children you might need to limit the no's on the bouncy castle and the time so everyone gets a go, it can get very hectic and even dangerous. lots of boys throwing themselves about lol.

Have you asked your son what games he'd like to be played, sometimes what they want is very different to what we as adults think they will want.
Starting to save £2 coins again, but it is a struggle:rotfl:Not doing very well keep spending them
