Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Pinch punch & all that.
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, ham sarnie with home grown salad leaves & spring onion, fish fed, breakfast eaten, WM on, DW on, I have an extra chore for about 3 weeks, I'm feeding next doors cat, this is worrying as she's 20 years old, eek!!
Today me & a friend are going to do a big clean of her Mum's flat that's about to be sold.
Yesterday DD1 came over with the DFGC & spent the day here. I made a fish pie for DD & sent her home with it and a jar of marmalade & the rest of the cake the outlaws didn't eat. I taught DD & DFGD to knit, not sure how much DFGD took in, but DD mastered it & so will be able to help her, DFGD wants to knit me a purple trail for my wedding day. Trail = a mix of train & veil, she best get a move on, she's got 2 & a bit weeks, lol.
I also went to Tesco twice yesterday to stock up on drinks for the reception, I popped into the charity shops & bought 3 summer skirts for £8, I have 2 left from previous years so that makes 5, one for each day of the working week.
Hubby phoned to say he'd be late home as there were problems at work so I went to see DD2 to take round some stuff I bought her that was on offer in Tesco. DGC were delighted to see me, or maybe they were delighted to see the grapes & blueberries I'd got with me.
Tea tonight is liver, bacon & onion with home grown new pots.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all to follow,
Bright beautiful day here, shame I am off to work, dd still in bed, will leave her a list of jobs to do
Dinner tonight is some rubber chicken in a BBQ sauce and rice, will get it ready this morning, ready to shove in the oven when I get in.
Collected dad from hospital yesterday, his chest is much better, mum is supposed to be going away Friday for a week and dad is going into respite, but we will have to see how he is.
Marie, glad one of the cats came back, hopefully the other one will follow.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning Hester and Redruby and all who follow
Lovely and sunny here todayI have started to clear the spare room and shall be packing up bits to send off to music magpie tonight (hopefully enough to help me save my £20 for today!) Got lots to send off but will do it in bits to check i get my money etc.
Need to sort kitchen out after work, Think we will do pizza for dinns, I bought some basics pizza bases to live in the freezer as it's nice and easy and cheaper than a takeaway, we've got all the bits to add as toppings so hopefully this will keep OH happy!
Need to pay in a cheque today, shame it's all going on bills for the rest of the month - but then they're all covered i think!
Have a lovely day all

Morning everyone
Bright, sunny and warm here this morning.:j
Only have to work until lunchtime, and am on a training course until 11.30am, so hoping to get lots of washing line dried and the wet awning from the caravan dry in the garden this afternoon.
DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Have sold a dress only ebay that I wore for my sisters wedding, not huge amount of money but since I've lost weight it was too big. Have started a mahoosive de-clutter, am going to work my way through the whole house - both boys have loads of clothes/toys/games/stuff that they've outgrown/never used - and both their bedrooms need re-decorating and they need new beds, so need to crack on with a major clean up!
Remembered to get chicken out of freezer last night, so roast chicken, pots (maybe new fresh from garden!!), cauli/broccolli cheese, carrots, swede, stuffing, yorkshires and gravy. Want to get ironing done, menu plan, write shopping list, change beds, general housework, and start the mahoosive de-clutter, will also be listing as much on ebay as humanly possible, at least if I try to sell stuff and it doesn't go, I then don't mind taking it to charity shops.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning hester and everyone
Nice and sunny here again, WM on soon, got up late (7 am) as it's the hols and baby didn't wake until then!
We're also starting a house-wide de-clutter. It's our silver wedding this month and we're having a little do, so it's a heck of an incentive to shovel aside some of the tons of carp we've accumulated in 25 years! :rotfl: Also in the magazine that comes with the a Sunday paper was an article about a bloke who's clearing his late mum's house - she was a hoarder of epic proportions; barely able to get into most of the rooms in the house as they were filled with STUFF! We're nowhere near that bad, but the article was one of those eureka moments.
Going to a friend's later this morning - she's having the children of another mutual friend, so we're going to chuck them all into the garden and feed them a picnic.
Tea tonight is braised steak (local butcher, fab meat) with assorted veg (i.e. whatever's in the fridge). Hoping to only buy meat today, got tons of food in the house and going to do meal plans later on.
Hope you all have some sun - literal or metaphorical - and hugs and kisses all round, sure I've missed important news recently!

am waiting in this morning for a plumber as we've a leak in the airing cupboard, I've emptied it and will have a good sort out bfore putting it all back in.
nmlc - decluttering for me today too, the airing cupboard plus we've 2 floor to ceiling cupboards in the lounge that are full of everything under the sun.
Redruby - hope your Dad is feeling better x x
I was up early this morning and had a clean through plus dyed my hair(didn't want the plummer catching me as I look  while the dye is on:D)
Not sure what else is planned for later, hope to see Mum for a coffee and I think DS1 might be calling by as he's in the area due to work.
WM is spinning, another small load to do plus a bit of ironing.
thats about it for now, (((hugs))) where needed, have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all :hello:
WM & TD on (haven't got w/line yet) I've also dusted the bedroom (didnt manage to do any flying yesterday) and promptly broke a mirror
DD's are watching a film and I've come back to bed with a cuppa. I need to ring a couple of customers back and tie a few odds and ends up then we're off to the sea side for fish and chips for a late lunch
OS wise - I've got some mince that needs using up so will make us burgers while we watch BGT later. Also need to catch up on my flying ... however just taking things one step at a time atm cos lots of things I want to do but don't want to crash and burn - so slowly slowly catcheee monkey here.

Morning my lovelies
Feel in a bit of a grump todayTired, got cold coming that kids have got, getting stressed about CM paperwork (again) and I just want to go and have a holiday.
Got a load of washing to put on, one to hang, need to put a loaf on and I've already put the vac round downstairs.
Tea tonight will be a makeshift, I normally have tap class but it's not on this week due to half term but I'll still let H fend for himself
Redruby - H forgot those shoes so I'll get him to post them tomorrow, hope that's OK. Glad your dad is out of hospital now x
Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning all
Glorious here. Had a rubbish sleep, wouldn't mind but I was really tired when I went to bed. Currently typing this in bed with my friends giant dog lying next to me much to DS's amusement. Need to take him out for a walk in a mo.
Plan to day to crack on with the garden. Need to do a Lidl shop and go to the butcher to stock up on meat. Ironing all done yesterday and not enough washing to do a load.
Have been thinking of making some homemade presents for Christmas this year, maybe soaps and candles. Don't know if anyone has any advice on good books and cost effectiveness. I'm not good enough at knitting to make anything but I'm not bad at sewing, think I need to search for some ideas.
Tea tonight is left-over bolognese sauce made into lasagne and HG salad. Also need to make some bread as I never got around to it yesterday.
Have a good day all and hugs to all who need one.
