Pardon me for crashing the thread - I am trying to claim back from Egg, and they have flat refused my SAR on the grounds that the account is closed, they returned my £10 cheque. But posts above suggest that they are in the wrong to do this? Do I actually need the terms and conditions, I do have a breakdown of the loan payments I made.

    Thanks in advance :)

If they have destroyed all data and there is nothing to supply then they are allowed to do that. If they still hold files then they should supply them under data protection.

No, you do not need the agreement. That is for people who dont keep their documentation and dont know what they have.

I am surprised you have had your request denied. What reason did they give you for not processing your request?

Forgot to mention, once I got my DSIR I saw that I had paid over £1400 in credit card PPI which I did not even know about!

Needless to say I have written to them already and will keep you posted :j

    God bless MSE!

    Bring it on!

Cannot believe it was really this easy!!!!
Well having joined the site only recently I was not really sure if it was going to be worth it. Having taken the advice of all the helpful and lovely people on the forum, as well as downloading the template for Loan PPI reclaim, I have had a great result.

I was claiming for a loan with Egg, which ended in 2006, as I was self employed at the time I thought I would have a good case to reclaim.

Initially I submitted a request for information on my loan and was refused. Luckily I had kept a statement so I knew exactly how much I had paid etc.
I was told by one of the members to request a DSIR (Data Subject Information Request) which I did.

What I am most amazed about, is the fact that I did not even get the chance to say I had been mis-sold PPI, when a cheque dropped through my door.

I am so pleased with this result. It is like they did not even contest it and paid up without me asking! Happy Days
It was such a good feeling to get one over on the banks

I got a cheque for £1381.31 which included compensation and interest on the initial £824.17 PPI payment :j

God bless Martin Lewis, The forum and all the members.
If there is anyone out there having doubts, just go for it what have you got to lose!

    :money:

    God bless!

:T:TBrilliant news, well done. I hope I hear something similar from Egg soon. Congrats again.:T:T

Not been on the forum for a while, missed you guys :rotfl:

Had another outstanding success in a refund of £1800 approx which dates back up to 8 years on PPI I did not know I ever had! After my first claim, it was totally accidental that I found out after I received my Data Subject Information Request, then noticed the payments.

Needless to say, I wrote to them and hey presto, big fat cheque in the post in no time! Who needs all these dodgy companies advertising on the TV, when it really is easy as MSE:T

Wishing you all a prosperous Xmas and New Year
