What everyday goods do you now consider a treat?

Tesco's have 70cl bottles of Grants Whisky on offer for a tenner a pop!! I got two today....As it was my last pay cheque since being laid off,I stocked up with loads of stuff for the future,One thing I did find myself doing tho was to rummage thru the trolley & ask myself 'do I really need/want that?'...I reckon I saved £20 doing that.0

I feel out of place, lol. I never really consider crisps and chocolate to be treats or everyday goods because I hardly ever eat them.:rotfl: Though I did buy 3 cans of Pringles the other day (3 for 2 offer) and shared them around with family because I wanted to get one of those speakers (already have one, works great too!)
Chocolate, I just don't really much care for, never have for some reason.:p
I suppose a treat for me is a nice big filet steak. I'm from America so I was used to eating beef a lot, but it's much too expensive for me now. Filets get saved for special occasions only.
Books are my other treat. That one is really hard for me, I love books.
I could not live without chocolate.
I have given up alcohol though, to be more healthy, lose weight and to cut down my shopping bill. Why waste calories and money on alcohol when I can have a big fat bar of chocolate instead :rotfl:There is no issue so small that it can't be blown out of proportion0 -

There is a site called Read it swap it - you can register for free and list all the books youd be happy to 'swap' with other... you use the serial no too, so its not like you have to spend time photographing them etc.
Anyway, you can browse other peoples books and ask them to swap with you - they then select one of yours and you post them to each other. New books for the cost of only the postage...

We did have a chippy dinner the other day. I have mini fish, chips and curry sauce and it's £2.99. I think it's for the schoolkids to buy lunchtimes really but plenty enough for me.

I try to use that site but havent had much success. I have a lot of different kinds of books listed but every swap I try for gets rejected. While my books just seem to attract interest for people offering the type of books i never read ie vampires and romances
Great idea tho. I used to Green Met but the money you get now per book isnt worth it as you get only a few pence after the high postage costs..At least with readit you get a book in returnWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
I've used Bookmooch to swap books in the past with some success, might be worth a look?Little lady arrived 13/12/110
