I think I would have to choose magazines. I love them and could spend a fortune, fortunately I am to tight to do so. I always try to look out for freebies or charity shop finds.

    Yup me too!!!

I Love reading magazines but hate spending £2 plus for one.

I work in a gp surgery so people hand alot in that are quite up to date so read those on my breaks

Might be worth looking on Market Stalls....on Chesterfield Market there is a stall which sells all different types of old Magazines (new ones) for £1 each, they are usually 1 or 2 months 'out of date'. In the past I have bought things like Good Food, Mens Car Magazines, Kids Magazines (with all the freebies attached).

    Butter!

It has shot up in price. Lurpak spreadable is on offer at £2.50 a 500g tub!

"I can't believe it's not utterly butterly" or whatever it is is £1.90 for 2 x 500g at the moment in Tesco.

Actually cheaper to use that for shallow frying than solid vegetable fat.

Am seriously considering the catering packs of 1200 teabags in Poundstretchers...

Fish and chips is a rare treat, a few times a year, even though it's cheaper than many of you are reporting (cod & chips is £4.95 near me in the city centre and not particularly nice)

That's what gets to me as well - I object to paying £5+ and still getting pale soggy chips.

My local Sainsbury's cafe does quite nice fish & chips lunches for about £4.

My wife went one step further and asked what happened to them when they were out of date. the young lady offered to give her a ring and now she goes in and collects them once a month. They would have gone in the recycling bin anyway, and we can do that.

    good make up!

I've recently found some Ruby & Milly make up 75% off in Boots. I thought that was brill & bought some foundation as I did need some. I paid £3.45 for it instead of £16 but have found it no better than my usual £3 one from my local market ;)

I do miss fresh fruit juice, it seems so expensive recently, and I absolutely won't pay silly money for cherries
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)
