Hi, an advice worker from a local resource centre. He just build up a stronger case and make sure I get everything noted> He said to contact him in about 6 months. I feel very uncomfortable about it all as if im a fraud. I genuinly have difficulties, many of which my gp cpn etc don't know about it. Id feel very degraded having to tell anyone. x

Charmaine, were you looking to increase your allowance?
I'd suggest you speak to the rep again and get more detail of the conversation he had with the interviewers. On the face of it looks like he didn't think there was a battle to fight and as such you are left with potentially losing your existing allowance?

I was initially awarded Mid care, low mob but appealed as both my CPN and pyshio thought I should. After 1 year I had my date for the hearing for 3rd May. This was adjourned as my rep didn't turn up. I then got a date for today. My rep was called into the room before the hearing and advised that my existing award was likely to be withdrawn. This was because my medical notes stated that I experienced great difficulty in getting in and out of the car and I was very uncomfortable and had great pain in my back while driving.....they said they would challege why someone with mental health problems and mobility needs could still drive...and had a car?? also that I ave 3 children....single parent...how could I take care of them if I can't look after myself??

My conditions are: Bipolar Disorder I am prescribed daily 1000 priadel (lithium) 200 sereqoul 10mg Lexapro. Asthma: Ventolin inhaler. Back problems: broken ccoxyx bone. Suspected Arthritis on upper back, shoulder, hands & feet - Deflanic, Co Codamol.

I have a CPN, I get bloods taken every 3 month and well as seeing my Pyschiatrist regularly. I attent Psyhio for my back.

I have a history of self harming. My daughter now shares a room with me. I no longer go shopping. I realy on help from family. I am in extreme pain sitting and moving about. If I do go out I always have someone at my side.

I do not know what to do now. I just have a feeling things didn't seem right today?

Any help or suggestions would be great x

They have done what is legally required of them, they must inform you if your existing award is at risk.

To be honest this is the way DLA claims are going, no matter what the law says.

They do advise AGAINST driving if taking any or all of the bipolar drugs above!

    cross posted with !!!!!!.

I hope they (the tribunal) inform the DVLA and take the Ops licence away if they are driving when they shouldn't be, I was disabled in a car accident by someone who shouldnt be driving.

@!!!!!!...omg I did not know this! I would never put myself of other road users in danger. I know some medication state you should drive or operate machinery but was never advised by Psychiatrist not to. To be honest if didn't have access to a car I think id be practically house-bound.....x
