Oh! I am going on holiday tomorrow and will be logging in from somewhere else.

    I am with the Halifax.

But I don't have the same IP address every day anyway and never had any problems.

Be warned then, they may suspend your online access while they perform verification checks.

Has happend to me and lots of others on this site before.

I have two current accounts, one of which is my "working" account. I have a couple of easy access Savings Accounts with other organisations. I am always shuffling money around to meet my regular outgoings.
It would not be unusual, especially at the start of a month to visit my main current account half a dozen times in one day.
Never had a problem - nor a query from my bank.

All my banks have my mobile phone number, yet I've never received a text message from any of them. The only time the number has been used is to call me regarding complaints/queries.

Same here. Plenty of calls from sharks offering "compensation", "loans" (happy to hear latest on these calls from the CAB/OFT this evening!) - but none from bank unless they or I have made a major slip-up.

If my bank started hassling me about checking my online banking every day, I'd call them up every day asking for my balance, and for them to read me the 20 last transactions on my account, and to transfer 1p between my accounts and back again.

They'd probably then tell me I could do it all online, and then regret it and wish they'd kept their mouth shut...
