checking online account every day?

I religiously log on every day to my two main banks (except when I'm on holiday when it'll be limited to every 3 or 4 days through the mobile phone). The routine involves: check balance, check transactions, check direct debits and check pending payments. Takes about 30 seconds on a computer (or about 30 hours on a mobile phone!)
My record for most logons in one day was probably about 10 times. I was waiting for a company to FP some money to me, which I was then to spend with my debit card. Had to wait for the money to arrive before I could use the debit card.0 -
Since I retired I check my online bank accounts every day.
Is this excessive and will the bank flag this up in any way?
Or do they not bother or even know?
I don't think it's excessive. It sounds very sensible. If I know I'm "sailing close to the wind" sometimes, I check my account more than once a day!
I think the bank would rather someone checked their account ever day than not at all!0 -
Good job I checked my account today, I found a cancelled DD had been re-activated and put me in the red. Sorted now though.0

i have that set up mine anything goes wrong i get a text.
Oh yes, giving your mobile number to the bank... can't see anything wrong there... as long as you like marketing text-spam every day!!!
To the OP, yes it is excessive, you can expect the men in white coats over some time very soonSeriously, if the frequency with which you check is considered crazy, then the same men will be picking me up at the same time!
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -

I check mine everyday
i think its a good thing and can help spot potential fraud. I have been locked out a few times for typing the wrong security code in

Some providers don't like it when you log in to online banking (Such as the Halifax) from different IP Addresses or Outside of the UK. If you use the same provider then you won't have a problem.
I check my Bank Accounts & Credit Cards everyday - Never a problem myself.David
£1 of debt is too much for me!0 -

Oh! I am going on holiday tomorrow and will be logging in from somewhere else.
I am with the Halifax.
But I don't have the same IP address every day anyway and never had any problems.0 -
I always check my online banking at least two-three times a day. Always making sure that I know when DD's go out and if I have money coming in.
Of course you have to watch out for any unannounced debits too. Ron2 I wouldn't worry to be honest.Gone from Poor to Excellent Credit. Proud of my recovery. Never going back to the sub prime!
